College TV deal 6/6/2006
Fox College Sports (FCS) will broadcast the first-ever National Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship this fall from Lake Lewisville in Texas. The tournament is scheduled for Oct. 19-21, and FCS plans to televise 19 hours of coverage in prime time. Broadcast dates and times are TBA.

"We?re proud to present the National Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship as another example of FCS' commitment to college fans across the country,? said David Rone, GM of FCS. ?We have found that there is a tremendous amount of interest in fishing at the collegiate level and we look forward to showcasing this event.?

Wade Middleton will host the FCS telecasts, with analysis from Luke Clausen, Kelly Jordon and Jeff Kriet. The event will be produced for FCS by Careco Multimedia.

The full field of 50 two-person teams will compete the first 2 days, and the five teams with the most accumulated weight on days 1 and 2 will advance to the finals on day 3. Weights will be zeroed for day 3.

The five schools represented in the finals will share $25,000 in prize money, which will be presented to each university?s fishing club. Each team will also receive a plaque commemorating their achievement, and the winning team members? names will be engraved on the FCS National Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship trophy
