Check out this video on YouTube. It is a guy named Butch Brown catching a giant limit on swimbaits in California.

I enjoyed watching this and dreaming of big bass and so I thought I'd share with you all.

I've seen his videos in the past - he catches some huge bass on video!

Always looks like he's fishing the same exact spot on the same lake. That might just be my memory though...

Personally, I would never put 5 bass that big and valuable through that much to get a few pictures. Maybe do one at a time or have someone help hold them and no longer than a minute but I realize one would be pretty excited about a nice catch like that. They're probably okay, especially if it was spring or fall, but that's a lot of stress just to get a picture.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

I plan on doing the same thing opening day!  Minus the whole picture taking deal.  That was pretty much pointless!

djkimmel

Well, obviously he wanted everyone to know he caught 5 at one time, but the video pretty much showed that it was an impressive catch better than the pictures would I think.

I don't know much about him. Maybe he is a rep or maker of one of the lures used, and feels the picture will help him promote some product? I seem to recall he is usually talking about the Huddeston swim baits.

Regardless, I prefer not to put clips through gills - too risky - or poke holes in them. I would have had someone help hold up a couple of them quick with me while someone else took 2 or 3 pictures and then let them go since I always plan on letting them go anyway. Especially when they're that big.

It does get you pumped up for opening day to imagine making a catch like that! I have to admit that the videos I've seen of Butch Brown's have made me think about buying a few Huddleston swimbaits! ;D Thanks for sharing the video BNL.

That is the most sturdy small boat I have ever seen. No matter what he does that boat never moves an inch.

djkimmel

Besides looking like he always fishes the same spot on the same lake, the boat never moves... I wondered sometimes if it was actually a modified dock sticking out from shore?!? ;D But in this video we see it's a boat. He's obviously a much better boat builder than I ever was.
