 >:( After getting home from the MWM on Sat I did the usual walk around the boat and trailer to make sure everything was where it belonged and I found that one of my bunks that are attached to the back of the fender was falling off. After climbing under the trailer I find that both of my fenders are rusting out from the underside. This is a 2006 trailer From Stratos. That is the only rust I have been able to find. Has anybody else seen this problem on their stratos trailer. This is garage kept and kept clean so I don't think they should be rusting out this quick. Any input
thanks
Bill

The same thing happened to the fenders on my Stratos trailer. To fix it I had to replace the wood and the carpet, as the wood was rotted around the edges where it was fastened to the fenders. I pulled the tires off and cleaned the fenders the best I could. I put a couple of coats of Rustoleum rust inhibitor primer then I coated the inside with some spray on 3m undercoating. I re-attached the carpet boards with ss bolts and ss nylock  nuts. I did not have any further problems with the fenders.

My boat was only 4 years old when I had to do that. It was stored in my barn year round, never left out in the weather. I think it's just luck of the draw.

Peace.
It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart.

My 2007 Stratos trailer is in rough shape with lots lf rust. It was alway garage kept up north and in my carport down south. I figure I'll have to replace it in a year or two.

Mine is an 04.  It has some rusty spots, and there is a spot on one of the bunks where the carpet is pretty much worn through.  My fenders are stainless.  Structurally and operationally, it seems 100%.  Even after about 300 tournaments around most of the US.

Hey Bill, I forgot you had your boat there.  I would have liked to have checked it out.  Post or send me a pic of it please.  Thanks,      Jeff

Sounds like Stratos and Nitro must make their trailers together.  My fenders are trashed, too.  Really sucks for you guys, because your boats are way newer than mine.

My father was a car collector and he always stated that storing a vehicle inside allowed oxidation to occur. If he stared something inside a garage he always had ventilation going to prevent the moisture from settling.
