Hey everyone

I have been thinking a lot about fishing tournaments or with a club. I don't have anyone that I would consider fishing with as a team.  I might do some of NBAA One-on-Ones in the metro Detroit area as a start into tournament fishing.

I want to put out there to the GLB members that I would be a willing partner for anyone that needs a someone to fish with, especially as a fill-in.  I have a pretty flexible schedule with work, so I can do last minute.  I am not sure I'm ready to commit to fishing a full series or anything like that. But I really want to learn more about tournament fishing.

A little about me. I live in Commerce Twp and I'm fortunate enough to live on a lake. I fish a lot, maybe 4 or 5 days a week (sometimes more if you count casting from my dock).  I have a Stratos and would be willing to trailer my boat if it was needed. I started bass fishing about 5 years ago and I'm totally hooked (pun intended). I have certain techniques that I'm really comfortable with, though I'm ready willing and able to learn more, so I believe I could partner with someone is a lot of different situations.  I have very limited experience on big water, almost all my fishing has been on inland lakes, though I hope that changes in 2011 and beyond.

I have talked/emailed with Dan several times about fishing tournaments and one of his recommendations was to post a message like this.  We even fished together last summer and so Dan will be able to tell you that I'm an alright guy.

Throughout 2011, if any of you need a partner, shoot me a PM and I should be able to respond quickly. Most of my time on GLB is from my phone and I check it a lot.

I hope to hear from some/any of you throughout the 2011 fishing season. And please let me know if you have any tips on getting into fishing tournaments/clubs.

Thanks
Nick

Nick,

You are also welcome to fish our "One-on-Ones" (www.MichiganBassAssociation.com)
We have 4 tournaments this year, all on St. Clair and Erie but next season we plan to add 2 more and mix some SE Michigan inland lakes in. We are a new tournament club just starting out. Once we get a core group of guys, we plan to adjust as members want. We also plan to add monthly meetings and such during the winter months.

Feel free to contact me with any questions,

Thanks Jeff and Mike, I will give you guys a call early next week.

Thanks Len, for letting me know about the the one-on-one club you are doing. I will keep it in mind, but I'm not sure I'm ready for big water tournaments.  I will definitely consider it in th future and watch for posts about your club.

BNL,
I will be doing a lot of jumping around this year, fishing when I can.  Tuesday's are my day off, so possibly some NBAA's evening stuff in your area or mine ( Pinckney area ).  So give me a call as well.

Check the NBAA website. You can post there. There are boaters looking for partners.

I am often looking for someone to fill a backseat on practice days for BFL's.  I usually post on here when i am looking for someone.  You would be surprised how hard it is to find someone that will take a free boat ride on a Thursday.

He even let me catch quite a few bass... which was nice! Thanks again!

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.
