Looking for brand/type suggestions for a good pair of glasses on the water.  What do you prefer and why?

Check out the thread on sunglasses on page three of Bass Fishing Products. There is alot of good info there.
Peace.

I read that thread.  I was just trying to solicit more information.  It's been about 4 months since that thread, didnt know if maybe there was anything new or updated info.  Maybe I should have just revived that thread. 8)

FWIW..

I've had Ocean Waves in Chicago frame with Green Mirror lenes for 5 years and love them. Plus, if you sit on your glasses they will fix them forr a nominal fee. Also new lenses are $45.00 if you need them . Now these are glass lenses but are not heavy to me. Most of my friends have Ocean Waves or Solarbat in Mossback Green. I may switch to Polycarb in Solarbats Mossback Green , just for a change.

I've heard so many good things about Solarbat and having a real light pair would be nice.

Good luck, Ckev

Any one of the bigger names (with better warranties) will work.  The hard part is getting to try the different tints in actual fishing conditions - everyones eyes are different.  But for the frames, just try on a bunch and look for good eye coverage and minimal gap around the frames for light to sneak in.  I have Costa's (fathoms) and they are very comfortable and light weight.  You can usually tell the quality of the frames and hinges, just by handling them.

I have a pair of smoke glass lens Maui Jim's that are practically brand new that I'll let ya have for $50.  I think I paid around $139 for them.  They come with a hard case.  They're great glasses, but I'm partial to the Costa's and am gonna get another pair in smoke/glass Fathom's.

I am a big fan of Costa Del Mar - Wave Killers.? They fit my face well, that is one of the most important aspects

This past winter I was in the same situation. I spent a lot of time trying on and looking, both in store and on line. I ended up going with the Oakley Half Jackets, however it took me awhile to find a pair that fit my head the right way. I have noticed the clearity on the high end glasses is great compared to the lower end, and if you take care of them they will last a long time. I can also wear them all day without any issues.  I have the amber lenses and I have no complaints.

The other nice thing about the Half Jackets is I can change the lenses without any problem. I ended up spending around $175 ???? Looking back at it I am very happy with the purchase. (With what I have spent over the years on cheap glasses I could have bought a couple pair, it's not that bad when you look at it that way.)
