Infinity, UVerse, Dish, Direct ???

   OK guys, looking for help again.  I'm not going through another winter missing out on a lot of good fishing shows !!!  I have expanded basic cable and the only thing I get now is Verses.  Who knows what it will be like when NBC takes it over in January. 
   Without spending an arm and a leg, what channels do you guys suggest???  I'm pretty sure one of them is The Outdoor Channel.  Seems to me someone like Waterfoul mentioned he was able to add that channel for a small fee to the package he had with either Dish or Direct.

I have had both Dish and Direct TV.....I switched to Direct TV last year after one of my Dish recievers went out and they wouldn't update my equipment for free.....I had been with Dish for over 10 years and all I wanted was an equipment update to HD....
So I switched to Direct TV and they gave me all new equipment and a year at half price....
I know quite a few guys that switch back and forth every couple of years to get the rebates and updates.....
I actually like the Dish Network setup better.....
It is an upgrade to get the Outdoor channel......Also don't be without the DVR service....It is awesome to be able to record shows and fast forward through the commercials..I can watch a football game in about an hour...

I have Dish and come January most of the fishing shows will be on The Sportsmans channel, Outdoor channel and Versus. WFN(world fishing network) might now be available a la carte as it was only available with an HD package.

I have U-verse and was able to add WFN as part of their sports package for $5.  Came with a bunch of other sports channels including Big Ten network.  Apparently have Versus too, but I don't usually watch.  I don't see the Outdoor channel in my lineup however, but might just not be subscribed to it.

One thing I'll add about u-verse.  If you have more than 1 tv in your house you have to "rent" a separate receiver for each tv.  The upside is you can stream any show off your dvr to any other receiver.  The other upside is that if you get their HD package, you can record up to 3 HD channels simultaneously.

Uverse....Love It.  I hate the cable company with the same passion I hate Northern Pike when I'm bass fishing.  I had Dish for 10 years and loved it, but when Uverse came along I switched and love it more.  Awesome solution and I get the channels I want incluing Vs, Outdoor and Sportsman.  I don't get WFN put should get it.

Speaking of cable... if you have Comcast this afternoon, you may have had some problems getting to my websites for the past couple hours. Nothing I could do. Some type of Internet connection issue between Comcast's Internet trunks and Texas where my server is - and many other thousands. I don't know what the specific issue was but it appears to have been resolved by someone.

The Comcast frontline person I talked to couldn't understand what I was trying to explain and said there were no issues, but the frontline person I spoke to at Hostgator immediately knew what I was talking about and said they were working at the higher levels between Comcast and upline Internet sources to resolve some kind of looping issue. Internet things I can't do anything about drive me as crazy as frontline people who only can read a prepared sheet!!!

I did finally get the Comcast lady to say she 'escalated' my case. I like my Hostgator people. Knowledgeable and go out of their way to be helpful.

Do you use U-verse for TV only or do you get phone and/or Internet from them too?

Internet.  12 Mbits down/1.5 Mb up.  I think I've had 2 outages in 2 years of service and they never lasted for more than an hour. People still have landlines?  VoIP isn't quite the same, but I made the switch to cell only 9 years ago and haven't looked back.

Go with Xfinity!!! At least untill the intro rate expires.  By far the best.   But you better get your wallet out when the cheaper rate is over.  Thats when you switch to att, dish, or whatever.  Att is pretty good but have heard alot of complaints about not getting service when its needed.

AT&T service suckssssssssssssssssssss.  Luckily with hardly any downtime I hardly ever have to talk to them. 

From a home theater standpoint, there's an issue with the audio sync to certain receivers where the audio cuts out inexplicably every few minutes for about a half a second.  I've had them for 2 years in my current place and another year at another place and they haven't solved the problem yet.  Yay.

   I hate Northern Pike when I'm bass fishing also Cy.  But I have to admit, the 13 pounder I got a few weeks ago was a blast  !!!!!!!
