Here it is...........http://www.flwoutdoors.com/bassfishing/bfl/schedule/2013/

Why do they choose to have more launches out of Elizabeth park then Metro??  Maybe to bring the Ohio/Indiana guys up in bigger numbers???

FOB

Not 100% sure, but one reason is the BFL on 8/24 out of Detroit River is third day of Elites going out of St. Clair.  Also, see the 8/2 tournament is out of Harley Ensign, not St. Clair Metro.

The majority of residents on the canals around Metro Beach made a big stink years back when BASS first came here and have made it well known with the city that they do not want large tournaments going out of the canal. I got this from Trip Weldon a few years back. They also need a launch were they can keep the boats in the water during the weigh-in.

I think I will fish the last 4.  Not going to care about points with a regional at the Chesapeake so no need to bother with Burt / Mullet.

Gee

Just wondering if anyone knows when registration usually begins for the BFL events.  Never fished one, but am looking to next summer as a co-angler.

Thanks

That was a few years ago. The Lake St. Clair Metropark is completely onboard with big tournaments now and they are telling the people who live in the area when to expect them. That's why the Elite Series will be at the Metropark. We've had access to a limited number of docks in the past there to keep boats in flights in the water, along with the limited wall and shore parking. Can't keep boats in the water at Harley.

Not sure exactly why BFL is launching out of Harley. The old issue with Harley was that they couldn't get a permit if they said they could have up to 200 boats because you can only use up to 50% of the parking spaces. Not sure how that is being handled?

I guess I wouldn't be surprised if the ramp changes later but you never know. Lots of dynamics involved. May be a scheduling conflict? More events being held at the Metropark now. Might be another reason.

As far as tournament-friendly ramps in Michigan, we need to get more organized and do some political type stumping to make that happen down the road. The MDNR isn't desperate enough yet, and the local governments and businesses are just starting to learn the impact of major tournament events and fishing on their local economies. I worked on that a lot earlier this year but my time has run out for now and we've lost some of the ground that was gained because there isn't someone who can take that project and give it the time it needs right now.

Having more state level people seeing the impact of tournaments and fishing on the economies would also be a big help! There's people out there that just plain don't like bass tournaments but they could be drowned right out with a little work by intelligent, organized, dedicated persons.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

Usually about the 2nd week of December. If I can, I will post the press release once it comes out. I thought I already saw it but can't find it now going back through my news email.

Team houston

I wasn't to happy about the Chesapeake Bay either when I first heard. Now I am thinking it will be a nice change of pace. New sights, sounds and adventure.
