Muskegon Lake may have produced a new state record perch. The only fact I have is that the standing record is 3 pounds, 12 ounces, and 21" long.

Now, this fish was caught on Muskegon Lake. It is 17" long, and rumored to weigh 4 pounds. It was caught by a friend of a guy here at work. Everything I habe on this fish is what is being said here at work. I don't know how it was caught, other than it was a legal catch. I was also told that the DNR did take the fish for confirmation purposes.

The picture was sent via a message on Facebook. You can't copy those, so the picture I am posting is a picture I took of then picture on my buddy's phone.

I just figured you guys would like to see it. We will have to watch for the official word.

It's crazy. I haven't seen a picture of the record fish. It is 4 inches longer, but I don't know how it compares girth wise.  I'm curious to see what the outcome will be.

I mostly perch fish through the ice and have never seen the eggs developed this far this early. She looks like a late Feb. early March fish. What a beauty!!! Thanks for the picture
