I need your opinions.  Trying to learn a little about these baits and have had mixed results.  Which is better for largemouth in your opinion?  Erie Darter or Dixie Darter?  Also, I've been rigging them on 1/4 ounce jig heads, but struggle fishing around weeds, as I hang up most of the time.  Is a different rigging method better for the green fish?

I use a poor boys cone shaped jig or nichols with the weed guard. Bait slides through weeds like butter.

My favorite way is Texas rigging using light tungsten worm weights. The key is the hook. I guess I shouldnt take ALL my little secrets to the grave with me.Lets call it Karma.

The hook is a Gamakatsu Skip gap no slip, number 1 or 2. These are the stickiest light wired hooks on the market. The bait never slides down the shank and the hook up is unbeatable. There is not a better hook on the market in my opinion.

Hope this gives you some direction. Good Luck

I have been using the Erie Darter a lot this year all on drop shot. I like the jr and have been catching big largies and smallies on it also a master angler rock bass (12.5" 1.24 lbs) and a master angler carp (14.08lbs 33") seems to catch big fish I use 3/16 tear drop weight and a #1 size hook

The Erie darter is simply a big fish catcher. I like it mostly on drop shot setup in stained to muddy water. Use anything from 3/16 to 1/4 oz weight depending what depth I'm fishing. When fishing clear water us the DS Darter. Looks like a worm for a smaller profile

kustom kicker power lock 1/4 to 3/8 oz depending on wind/depth. work it with a series of short, consistent pops.  sometimes i just fish it like shakey head.  popping it around weeds typically will clear them. if it feels like there is a weed on it, just give it a good snap or 2.

they are great baits for smallies as well large mouth. Did pretty well just dragging one like a tube on st. clair during the open this spring.

Thanks for the tips.  I will definitely try these tactics and rigging methods.  Thanks again!
