Hello all, as I've posted in some other threads, I'll be renting a slip where the weigh in takes place. I have a Tahoe fishing pontoon boat and will not be a competitive tourney fisherman. I won't even try for bass up there until after the fish relax after the BFL weekend (my first weekend of summer).

I know things like this are close-hold, but if anyone would be willing to share some places for a family to enjoy (catch and release) for the rest of summer it would be greatly appreciated. We're also going to be going after pike and trolling for trout, musky, etc. Basically a summer of fishing fun (our first with the boat and on these waters). I do have a Garmin Etrec Legend for GPS locations.

Thanks and good luck at the tournament,

Rick

Check out the past threads on this tournament from last year as they were very detailed. Take a ride in your thingytoon after the tournament is well underway, watch as a spectator from a distance for locations and general fishing areas. Buy a fishing hotspots map or its equivilent and learn the lake as they have species related information and spots marked. Be courtious and don't crowd boats and you will find the community fishing areas pretty easy to pick out. Come to the weigh in and pre-tournament meeting ask questions and most anglers will be willing to help. If that does not work Bribe the top finishers kids with candy. "Works every time"

Barring unexpected surprises, I'll be up there for the BFL. Make sure and stop by. Say hi. I can help point you in the right direction for various fishy's. Watching some of the anglers this time of year will put you in the right parts of the lakes for bass on beds and shortly after, but they will move some as the summer progresses and maybe get harder to catch. Not too many kinds of fish you can keep catching all year in the same spots.

Keep reading on here. Look at last year's stuff to start with as SODY suggests.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.
