I think we are making progress towards support for Michigan Bass Season Option 4/D with the NRC. I thought I had a good reception of my Michigan B.A.S.S. Nation handout and speech. I got a couple good feedback comments from two Commissioners - Klarr and Nichols.

I will be individually polling them today and the next few days. I have to counter some bad information a trout angler fed at least one of the Commissioners but that should be easy to do.

We are working hard too on a solution to get authority back as early as possible so people know as early as possible what the new bass season will be. We'd love to start on April 1st when the new fishing regulations for 2015 take effect but we still need some things to happen in the Legislature. Getting some help there again.

And I cannot say enough about MUCC https://mucc.org - you SHOULD be a member now! We NEED them to get anything major accomplished and they really went to bat of us at the NRC meeting yesterday turning in signatures of their Executive Director Daniel Eichinger and reps from the:

Michigan Hunting Dog Federation
Hammond Bay Area Anglers Association
Michigan Steelhead & Salmon Fishermen's Association (the Steelheaders)
International Federation of Fly Fishers - Great Lakes Council
Saginaw Field & Stream Club
Michigan Bow Hunters

Other groups have said they will send in comments or at least have their group review our request to see if they can support it too.

I don't know if they showed you any of the emails that were sent to them but if you did, I tried to make the case that it was good for tourism in our state.  We need to bring people here so that they can spend their money for a vacation they won't soon forget.  Thanks Dan for all you're doing.  If there is anything I can do to help move our message forward, let me know how I can help.
