I have a 898 si in console and a 788 do at bow.i am having trouble staying on structure out deep.my charts jump around and my waypoints move.i am tryin to find so info on this receiver with heading sensor.will it help me and can I hook the receiver up to both units or just one.anybody have this and is it worth the money

Basschief

Is your chart set so north is up, or is it set towards your heading?, that can make things seem goofy.  I always keep mine on north up, keeps things simple.

I have tried course up and north up.i guess I have been on course up a lot more.but charts jump around a lot but when moving it is easy for me to read.from my research so far it sounds like this puck with heading sensor will clear some of that up but I was hoping to get some more imput...when I choose north up I get confused with my boat direction toward my waypoint

I have one - it will settle up the readings a ton, it needs to be tested in mounting location as something like a trolling motor's magnets or other metal can affect the compass.
LOVE mine...

I have not yet purchased one.it seemed like know one had any info on it..but I get really confused when fishing out on some deeper water in the middle of the lake tryin to stay on some way points.i finallly started throwing buoyes and that helped a lot.do u think it is worth the money.that is the cheapest I've seen it..thanks for help

Rangerman

Had the same problem on last boat with 799 on front with build-in ant. Added a puck and it improved 100% :D Still a little jumpy but did help. Just rigged you Ranger with twin 1199's and both has there own puck. Very steady but some jump. I would go for the ext. puck Amazon has great prices. I think you will alway get some jump in open water with the wind blowing but ext. puck helps
