Be sure to watch your lake map - lots of weird sand bars and rock piles. A lot of props and lower units have been lost in that lake. The lake is generally clear, but heavy boat traffic can really stir it up. Yes, there are smallmouth. West half of lake is mostly flat and shallow - a combo of sand and muck. East half has lots of breaklines, islands, humps, and bays. Sometimes crankbaits will work (shallow OR deep) and tubes are usually a popular choice as well (again, shallow OR deep - depending on where you decide to fish). I know the lake pretty well, but have yet to figure out any consistant patterns. It can be humbling or you could bump into a school of good ones. It has lots of boat traffic and fishing pressure. Good luck!

not much to add to what fasttrack said, but look for scattered weed clumps on sand flats.... seems to be fairly consistent. senkos and hula grubs seem to work best.

Been a while, but around "turtle rock" was good, as were docks.  By the Yankee Springs area, there are some "sandsucker" holes to check out, too.  There are a bunch of channels on the south end if I remember right also.

Around the "turtle rock" as stated in previous post. Last year at a club tournament, we had a new kid do some pretty quick damage on some decent smallmouth with on of the Rick Clunn LC crank baits. Light green back with a white or pearl type side. Out of the back of the boat he caught three good smallmouth weighing around 8-8.5 lbs. in about 15 minutes there. Then mister snaggle tooth decided he didn't need it anymore. Bad thing about those $15 baits, if you can only afford one.

I can also confirm the senko and hula grub out there. Greens and browns, depending on color of water.

I've seen a good spinnerbait bite out there with a 3/8 oz. BooYah, gold blades, yellow and brownish/copper skirt.

Good Luck!
