Haven't heard any discourse yet on the Cup. It starts tomorrow. Six Michigan anglers are in the $2,000,000 event with a $1,000,000 first prize. The weighin is tomorrow for day one at 3:15 on FLW Live. Got more info on my blog at teardropbass.com.  By the way did anyone read Lt. Dan's piece in the July issue of the FLW on VHS? I need an autograph.

Good news for day 1, Michigan co-angler expert and 2005 FLW Tour Championship Co-Angler champion TREVOR JANCASZ drew Mark Davis as his boater.  Couldn't ask for a better pairing, Davis is picked to do very well if not win, mostly due to the fact he lives on the Lake Ouachita!  Should be a well guided tour from honey hole to honey hole.  It should prove to be a tough bite, but the more seasoned crew of anglers should pound out the youngsters.  Guys like Jay Yelas, Gary Yamamoto, Mark Davis, Larry Nixon, & George Cochran should be on everybodies minds.

Of course I'm pulling for Vida, Ferguson, & Long!!!
Best of luck to all our Michigan anglers.

Well at least I am consistently...wrong!  an FLW Tour rookie is in the lead!  In my defense though Davis is close to the top, that should help Jancasz today and Vida is right there as well!  On the co-angler side Ron VanGordon is just down in 24th place, didn't see who his draw is for today, but he is in a decent poisition after day 1.

Van Gordon on the co side drew Matt Herren who is in 16th after day one. Jancasz drew Davis who sits in seventh and Tom Trombly drew Koby Kreger who is sitting 71st after day one. Sounds like Ouachita fishes like a northern MI lake being that it's Crystal Clear. Several top pros alluded to catching suspending fish in standing timber. The rest seem to be working an early morning shallow bite and then heading deep to fish grass. Bryan Thrift, the guy that introduced the chatterbait, is in first on the pro side with 15-7. Said he wasn't using the chatterbait much though.

I tried to get a cup of coffee from him (Scott Suggs) at Metro Beach a few weeks ago... he didn't have a drop of coffee with him... not even any grounds!!! I bet he can afford free samples now!

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.
