Spinning vs Casting Gear for Tubes?

What do you prefer for fishing tube jigs say from 5/16 - 1/2oz?

I typically use a 7' M or MH casting Rod and 12# Straight Fluro for most situations. However every time I lose a fish on a tube I tell myself I am going to give a spinning set up a try maybe with a braid to fluro connection which seems to be popular.

I just personally tend not to fish spinning tackle unless I have to basically if I am using 8# test or lighter I guess,  I just like the control of a casting outfit.

I'm sure there are times for both set ups or even others but was just curious to see what most people preferred for everyday typical tube jig fishing and maybe some reasons why?

I've never had a problem with big fish with a tube and a spinning combo.  Biggest with spinning was 6.6 lbs with several 5s and many, many 4s.  Even caught carp up to 15 lbs on this rig.  Still experimenting with going to the braid/FC setup.

I use spinning with 15 or 20 braid to a 10 or 12 flours leader. Use the Alberto knot works great.

For 4" tubes and above I use baitcasting gear (curado or chronarch and 7-7.5 MH St. Croix Avid) and 12# flouro.  I'm usually fishing tubes around zebra mussels and I just feel like A) I have a better feel for jig bites with that setup and B) that feel helps me keep my line from getting cut up on the bottom like it seems to with heavier flouro on spinning gear.  I also feel like I play fish hooked on longer or heavier tube jigs better with baitcasting gear.

If I'm throwing tubes under 4", I'll switch to spinning gear and 8# flouro. The smaller, lighter jigs I use for those, though, are perfect for spinning gear and lighter line.
