in our outboard motors, there is help. Check out this article and product.

I know of at least 3 people who have had fuel related problems (fuel pumps quit) which cost them between $700.00 to $1,500.00 for
their repairs.A 32 ounce bottle treats up to 500 Gallons and costs about $25.00,much cheaper than those repairs or replacing an engine! ;)

there are many alternatives out there as well -
Each engine mfg has their own branded prduct they reccommend for their motors -

Mercury(fuel conditioner), Yamah(ring free) and Evinrude/Jhnson(2+4).
These each have stabilizers to prevend gas degradation over time(similar to stabil), as well as lubricants for the internal motor components - fuel pumps, seals, and injectors... as well as carbon buildup preventers.

Alternative aftermarket additives are also out ther such as this one, as well as Seafoam(heard very good things about) and this one.  E10 is nothing new, and has been around for many years, just not publisized that this is what you were getting.

I am so happy with the results i have had using Starbrite Startron
that i now use it in my gasoline pickup and all my gas engine power tools (Roto-Tiller,Chainsaw,Lawnmower,etc).I can't believe the difference it has made in the pickup, before using this additive the truck was sluggish and since using it it is no longer sluggish and have improved the mpg noticeably! The friends that i have recommended this product to have had similar results also. ;)
