Saw these culling bags online...What do you think???? Anyone ever use them?
Not that I get a chance to cull that much anyway. ;D

Well, for one the pictures on their website suck.

I think I'll stick with my home made poly propolene line/snap hooks system.  Works good for me and the entire system (6 culling tags) cost me about $4 to make and it beats almost anything I've seen on the market.  So I guess I'm $66 richer than a person who buys this Glory Bag.  Glory Bag?  Strange name to say the least.

I kind of like the xTools system with the scale.  Only problem with that system is that it goes for $100.  Ouch!!! for a scale and 7 culling floats.

Fish take a beating when we are screaming across LSC on a rough day...These bags may help protect them some from injury..My Boater on the LSC tourney last year probably cost himself a check when he lost a couple of fish on the way back in....
I always stop and check my livewell level when running, that helps.

For $30 more I would get the xTools culling scale system and stop every now and then to make sure my livewell had plenty of water.  I could even plug the overflow hole so that there is plenty of water on the way to the weigh-in.  Fish care is important however water level in the livewell is key.

I use the cul-em-rite scale and pin floats - a little pricey for the scale, but really speeds the culling process up, especially when the bite is on.  I also use a single fish size weigh bag(black), as it calms the fish down to be weighed prior to culling, especially good for those wild smallies on a rough day ont he lake.

I've been kinda thinking... for guys like myself who have smaller livewells with the gravity flow system (pumps water in and lets it flow out an overflow tube or hole) would a constant flow system be benificial while running across the lake?

You could take a speedometer pickup, mount it to the transom, and then run that little tube into your livewell.  This way while you are moving there would be constant flow thru your livewell.  The tube isn't big enough to overflow the livewell (at least not on my Tracker) and it would provide fresh water and keep the livewell full the entire time you are on plane.

What do you guys think?  Is it worth a try?  I think it would be easy to retrofit on my boat since I can reach the outside rear wall of my livewell fairly easy to run the hose into the well.  Drill a small hole, run the water line in, seal it up with some sealant.  Then if it doesn't work it can easily be removed as well.  This entire system could be done for the cost of the speedo pickup (which I can get cheap due to working at West Marine).

I think maybe I'll put this into it's own thread...
