Ontario's 2008 bass season for Zone 19 - St. Clair River, Lake St. Clair and Detroit River (Lake Erie too) opens the 4th Saturday in June - June 28, 2008 - one week after the Michigan opener.

Here is the season summary by species for Ontario Zone 19 only:

Make sure you understand if you buy a sportfishing license you can keep the full limit of gamefish, but if you buy the less expensive conservation fishing license, you have a reduced creel. For example 6 bass for the sportfishing license and only 2 for the conservation fishing license. It is amazing they even bother to open the season at all - 1/2 the year is gone.  Nov & Dec are pretty much shot due to weather, so you can only fish 3 or 4 months in that freakin country.

Silly canuks.

The concept of a bass season still astounds me.  Man, I miss the common sense of the south...

Change is slow to come around. I wonder that the cold makes it slower up here...?? But there are definite signs of change like the culling rewrite mentioned in the Conservation board below. Not too long ago, this would not have happened. Patience my brother...

If you were lucky enough to get in the FLW you have to stay off Erie and SC from June 23 to July 5th.  so the season is even shorter.  but it will be fun once you get there.
