What are your 10 Best Michigan Bass Lakes?

I'd like to create a list of GreatLakesBass.com members' 100 best Michigan bass lakes! What are the 10 best bass lakes in Michigan in your opinion? Post in this thread and list them from 1 - 10 in the order you think are the best.

Maybe you want to add reasons you think the lake(s) deserves to be one of the best?!?

You can list inland lakes, rivers and/or the various Great Lakes and Connected Waters (or known parts of them). I think this will be fun! Start sharing your list!

1.  Union   Cause it's outside my front door.
2.  White Lake in Highland.   Great fishing and the White Lake Inn for lunch.
3.  St Clair.   Love the fishing.  Hate the drive over and back.
4.  Kent Lake.   It can make ya smile and cry all in the same day.
5.  Wolverine.   Great lake but it is filling up with weeds.  Won't be around long.
6.  Crooked Lake Brighton.    Ugly launch but beautiful lake to fish.
7.  Cedar Island.   Small launch with some Big fish.   You will see more Big ones than you will catch.
8.  Hubbard Lake.    Loooonngg drive but Big Smallmouth. 
9.  Lake Orion.    Lot's of big fish.  Fish during the week it is a zoo on the weekends.
10. Middle Straights.    Lots of different ways to fish it.  Fun dodging golf balls on the west end.

I'm only going off lakes I've fished and the experience I've had there, I'm sure there are better ones out there. Not even going to try and put them in order, sorry Dan!

St. Clair - #s of big smallies
Portage (Onekema) - variety
Muskegon - variety
White (west side) - grass and largemouths
Portage Chain - current and both species of bass
Charlevoix - #s of big smallies
GT bay - #s of big smallies
Burt/Mullet - #s of big smallies
Wixom (some of the other lakes in that area deserve to be on that list but I've never fished them) - Big fish and numbers of them
St. Helen - Lots of fun shallow stuff and some grass to flip

1. Belleville- really, if you can make it there you can make it anywhere
2. Kent- weekdays
3. Detroit river.
4. Portage chain
5. Clark lake.
6. Chemung
7. Center lake chain.
8. Bellaire.
9. Dubonet
10. Houghton. I know, but family has a place there. It's nice to fish in my pj's sometimes.


These are not the best, but I do well on them so I keep going back.

These are lakes that I fish numerous times per year. Mostly smallie lakes since it's what I prefer to chase. I have fished LSC several times & I know it should be on the list, but I don't fish it regularly since I just head north. I have a few new ones on my hit list this year: Walloon, Charity Islands area, Beaver (Aleena), Margrethe, & Arcadia.
