Looked on the DNR site and there are 39 tournaments scheduled around the state on May 27th.  Lots of choices all over the state.

Where is everyone fishing.

Looks like Lobdell Saturday and Kent Sunday for me.

Then Tuesdays and Thursday mornings the rest of the summer.

I will be at the OBM Kent opener as I fish every year... Fathers Day Fletchers, and the rest I just drop in when I feel like it.

I like fast boats and fishing.. I can do both the same day.

The MDNR told me there are already over 2,000 bass tournaments on the calendar for this year. Lots of choices. Makes me wonder how many bass tournament anglers there really are...? More than people tend to think anyways.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

Probably Tuesday guys will be complaining about low boat turnout at there events.  I think I counted 7 events in a 20 mile radius in the Oakland / Livingston county area.   Lots of choices.

djkimmel

Wow - are you saying 7 events on a Tuesday..., or just that week?? That's a bunch. We need to maybe coordinate better... or just keep attracting more bass tournament anglers?

No on Saturday May 27th there are 39 tournaments registered in Michigan site.  There are 7 events on the 27th  within a 20 mile radius in Oakland / Livingston county.    Sorry if I confused anyone.   Weekday nights there will be multiple events on some days luckily on different lakes.

The DNR site is handy to see what events are going on.

I will be wacking them at the WMB super saturday open on the 27th.

Dan may have the numbers from last year.  I had them but can't find them.  You can look at the DNR site and see the schedules.   In SE Michigan you can fish at least one tournament every day of the week.   Many days have multiple events from different divisions.  Tuesday -  Thursdays are the most popular mid week.

Anyone know if there's one on Belleville Saturday morning? I was thinking about fun fishing that day until I remembered it's opening day.

dartag

there is nothing listed but some events don't list there's.   Call Laporte he might know.

there are 2055 events scheduled so far.  This is the link you can look at all of them or select a lake.

you can select a lake and at the top left it will tell the number of events on that lake this year.   Kent has 27, Pontiac 42, registered so far.  Most of the other lakes are 15-20 events this summer.    Lakes are getting slammed.

I help run a Tuesday Morning trail so I like to look at what events are on the lakes we fish.

Team houston

I was watching Bassmaster live last week on Rayburn. They had a quiz about how many tourneys were held on Rayburn in a year. The answer was 400 !!!!

djkimmel

We are well over 2,100 bass tournaments registered for 2017 so far. Approaching a 100 more than last year. Only bass tournaments have to register again this year. Everyone else starts registering next year. They are working on the application right now so it will fit other tournaments, and add a change or two to help us enter our results more accurately also.

Remember - more people fishing more often is a good thing for fishing! We were recently showed results of the recent angler census on Lake St. Clair and overall fishing effort is down on that lake a whopping 50%!! People think it is busy and crowded out there but it is actually WAY down from a few years ago. That is not a good thing for fishing!
