Can you believe the weights on Falcon. Aaron Martens is currently in first with over 40 lbs. 30 lbs isn't even the top ten. 13 lbders being weighed. KVD had about 25 lbs. and he'll be lucky to be in the top 50. Currently with a bunch to weigh in he's 40th. Weigh in is still on at 7:32 pm.

who needs to go to amastad in mexico when you can go to texas and catch more, and bigger fish....  imagine if you got there when they were spawning...  looks like fun!

Cy

Weight in just wrapped up and it was incredible!  It was hard to believe that Denny Brauer could only come with 19 lbs!  This lake looks like a flippers dream.  It will be interesting to see what the rest of the weekend brings.

MAN! I WANNA GO!! I'd have to hit the weight room for a month first though.

If you do go, bring parachute cord.  They're breaking fish off on 65 lb. braid!!!!  You need a broomstick and steel wire!!!

What a lake!  I think the first place weight right now at the FLW event in Alabama would only be showing a 90th place....  competition is competition tho!

dashaver63

One of the pro's, I don't remember who, said he hooked a couple fish that he couldn't move. I just have to wander how long those fish will hold up. If they do, we could see a 4 day winning weight in excess of 150lbs. Thats just incredible.

yukonjack2

Holy big fish batman -

Matens and Velvick both over 75 lbs for two days.

Can you say DK winter open down there?

Wow! What a lake. Here's the top ten after Day 2.
1. Aaron Martens   79-13
2. Byron Velvick    76-9
3. Mark Davis        68-13
4. Paul Elias          67-6
5. M. Iaconelli       66-5
6. Bernie Schultz   61-15
7. J.Williamson      60-13
8. Scott Rook         60-5
9.Derek Remitz      59-7
10. Scott Campbell 59-5

KVD is 35th with     52-5

In the FLW Lewis Smith Tour Event, my buddy Don as a coangler had two bad days. Tony DeFillipo had three fish each day. Nate Wellman, my old student, had another $10,000 payday. That's three 10K tournaments in a row for Nate.

this lake is just sick, i dont think they are gonna break the 45-2 limit but its gonna be real close still 2 more days of fishing, its just absolutly incredible, i looked at the full standings and steve kennedy missed the cut i did not see what he weighed in at the moment i watched the basszone commentary they said kennedy missed the top 50 by weighing in almost a 30lb bag, just hearing that i couldnt help but laugh just because how rediculous the fishing is down there...it just blows my mind

I was just looking at the pictures of the weigh in...I wonder how many feet the water level drops when they pull all of that fish weight out of the lake... ;D unbelievable..

The thing about Falcon that gets me is those guy's can all fish their strengths. Those fish are everywhere. They are catching them deep, flipping, whatever.

skeeterman190

Well this palce is definately awesome I seen where arron martens was leading going into the last day with 109lbs. Wow its pretty cool that these guys can catch these fish and show them too the world and maybe get more people interested in our sport. thats what its all about. But too me personally, it doesnt really get me too charged up. Hey dont get me wrong Id give one of my n**s to go there. What was your favorite tournament to see that related to you the most and you thought man I could prolly do that? Id say my favorite was The Classic in Pittsburgh. I know it made for lame TV but for them to struggle and have to really use there skills and knowledge out there was what impressed me the most. Not catch 150lbs of fish and hoping i get lucky to land yet another monster. Ive watched the Bass Champs I think it is and these pros arent showing me anything that the weekend warriors from down that way have in there tournaments there. Obviously its great for the sport so keep it up.Now im rambling thanks for tuning into the philbilly rant and rave-skeeterman-

I know what you mean. It's entertaining but not very educational. Like I said in a previous post, those guy's are just going out fishing their strengths.

Ryan

I like seeing how multiple pros have had their hands bandaged up from catching so many fish and particullarly, so many big fish.  You know that these pro's hands must be used to catching a lot of fish, so to see them needing to wrap them in tape....Wow!!  It must be crazy good down there.

dashaver63

And to think they are heading to Amistead next. We may see guy's fishing in gloves just because they don't have any skin left on their hands. BRUTAL! (OH IT HURTS SO GOOD!)

Dan

Trip Weldon wears a glove for weighing in fish. I believe he called it an xglove, but when I Googled it there wasn't anything just a bunch of Japanese sites. I thought the glove he wears might be something our weighmaster may want to get for this coming season. Not that we weight the amount of poundage that Falcon has, but it does keep your thumb protected and if you weigh a bunch of fish it keeps you from getting finned etc.
