This is great news! It's about time!  But sadly, only a shot in the dark left to qualify to fish a "HUGE" tournament on my home water....

How has the fishing been on those rivers??? Has it improved since the classic??? The fishing seems to be better all over so maybe so..

I hope for the anglers sake it has improved. Ohio TBF just fished the Ohio River not far from Pennsylvania and there was only 3 limits caught in 2 days. Isn't the field for the FLW Cup bigger than the Bassmaster Classic field? If so, some of those guy's are really going to have to make long runs to find productive water. 18lbs. for 4 days will win it. I don't know what some people see in the Ohio River, but I don't get it.

I personally like seeing tournaments held on tough lakes/rivers.  I think it will be the ultimate test of a pros ability to find fish and catch them.

It's been a great year this year for the rivers, I had one 4-2 SM and lots of others close to that.  The LM population has increased too, and big fat spots are pretty common.  If you want to risk some locks, some guys do real well up the Mon, I've always done better up the Allegheny.  Downstream the Beaver river is 2 locks and about 20 miles, but has an incredible LM population. But, the 3 rivers in Pittsburgh are fussy, when they shut down they REALLY shut down.
Further north on the Allegheny (Kennerdale, Oil City) the SM look like Erie fish. 60-80 fish days all over 3lb are common.  But it gets too shallow to run a bass boat.  Some of those hogs have to make their way down to the Point.
I tried fishing the Buckeye division's tournaments on the Ohio river down that way and it's a completely different game. Needless to say I did about as well as dashaver's posted results for the TBF tourney.
