Fellas,
Looking to spend a day on either Erie or St.Clair with a pro.Hoping to learn boat positioning, how to properly read electronics, techniques and eliminate water on these big water systems. Thanks in advance,Aaron.
Rock and fish...thats what I do!

McCarter

I would get ahold of Marcel Veenstra.  He is an FLW Pro and a great guide.  You wont be disappointed!

Tell him McCarter sent ya.

McCarter himself :-\'

For a Captain who specializes in teaching, you might also want to talk to Capt Wayne Carpenter at 877-485-2223. Fishing information is his business.

That gives you a couple good choices.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

Thanks McCarter, sent Marcel an e-mail and he hit me back promptly...thank you.Hes a bit pricey for what I can afford but I'm sure that he is a great guide.Wish I had the flow to do it.Dan, I picked up one of Mr.Carpenters "No Secrets" books and it was a great help this past fall.Would love to fish with him someday. If you guys ever need a fishin buddy...

If you can make it up to the Novi Ultimate Fishing Show this Thursday through Sunday, you can talk to Wayne about fishing. Never know where things might lead.

The other thing to keep in mind is our GreatLakesBass.com member's tournament this spring, probably sometime in May on Lake St. Clair. Open to all members and cheap to fish some really great prespawn action. Watch the DK Open board below in the Tournaments section.

Dan, its looking like my schedule will allow me to make the trip to Novi on saturday! That sounds like something I NEED to do.Its great because I play music at least twice a week AND work full time. The stars lined up for me and I will be headed north from sunny Cleveland and cant wait to say hello...in person.Good to be part of a community of fellow bass fishing nuts! Most women just dont understand... :D
See ya saturday,

If you want a good (cheap) time on LSC, definately check out the member's tourny in May, just fished it for the first time this last spring, and although my CO (who I unknowingly had already fished with before) caught all of our keepers I had a blast. Nice to put a face to the names.

Rocknfish

The members tourney sounds like a great time and something that I will certainly try and make.Any idea what day in May yet? Gonna make a trip up from Cleveland to the Novi fishing show on saturday(weather permitting).Would be great to meet anyone here on the site.Definitley gonna be around the Xtreme Tackle kiosk.Gonna bring a couple bucks to try out some of their products.Anyone interested in chatting, feel free to drop me a pm and I will be glad to exchange numbers.
