How Much to Pitch Down for High Five

I'm considering switching to a High Five on my 620/225 Opti and am wondering how much, if at all, I need to move downward in pitch from a three blade.

The two props I currently own are a Boger Blueprinted Tempest in 21P which is great for top end and a four blade 23P MI Wheel Ballistic.  The Ballistic is an excellent prop for big water, holeshot, and carrying a load but maxes out on RPMs around 5000 for me.

They don't make the Ballistic in a pitch lower than 23 so I'm going to sell that one and pick up a High Five instead.  If I'm just barely bumping the limiter on a 21P three blade (with a bit of pitch added during blueprinting) do I need to pitch down to 19 for the High Five or should I stay at 21?

Thoughts?

so what are you looking for more rpm? hole shot? top end?? the 620 is that deep hulled ranger-walleye rig-right??  :P on an opti, max rpm is 5500. spinning a 23 at 5000 aint half bad -seeing the ranger is a lead sled. what is your prop to pad measurments?. oh yeah set back is how much? and water pressure reading?..have you tried a high five??

the 620 ranger is one of the slower ranger hulls currantly in production.you may kick you self for getting rid of that 23p prop.

what i would do is get on the net and throw a search out for any one with a high five. in a 19-21 you could burrow..trying differant props is key..also look for a renegade in the 21-23p area. the renegade props have alot of stern lift..or a good fury in a 21-23p-rangers tend to love this prop-fury's have a ton of lift built in them..

i am a bass boat guy so i am kind guessin at set up on a eye boat..my last big water boat had twin cat inboards..

Slipkey, sorry I am just replying.

I have a Skeeter ZX-190 that I bought a High 5 for and I was told not to change the pitch at all.  I had a Yamaha Pro Series M25 three blade, and my High 5 is a 25p.

Of course, I don't know anything about Rangers or Mercs, but I was told not to change the pitch.

hope this helps!

Eric
