Hello

I am going to be vacationing in the Frankfort area at the end of this month.  I am wondering what baits I should bring with me because If I bring everything with me there won't be room for the wife and kids in the car  :D  Basically what would your guys' top 4 or 5 lure choices for this time of year?  I will mainly be fishing inland lakes in the area.

Thanks alot

Matt

Find something you can cast a mile. I like to throw a carolina rig with the aforementioned baits. Don't be afraid to fish knee deep sand flats. You don't necessarily need to be deep. Topwater, plastics, in the morning and when the wind comes up in the late morning afternoon try the spinnerbaits and cranks. Just generally speaking. Type of day really makes a difference. Any you catch will most likely be upchucking crayfish.

awesome list.  I appreciate it.

Also I know I will be using flourocarbon for most everything except topwater.  What line size(s) should I have spooled up?  or what is the heaviest I can get away it?

Dan

Fishing smallies on the beds in that area this spring I used 6 lb. Vicious Fluorocarbon on my spinning reels. I have went to Vicious because of the price and have found that I can run a full spool of 6 lb. Fluro works very well and is plenty strong. On a baitcaster you can go up in size to whatever you like. Not as criticlal on that type of reel.
