Anybody know much about Whitmore Lake. I went out there Sunday, 7-12-09 and not much going on. We caught one shorty in about 30 fow on a tube.

Lots of boat traffic and very sandy. PM me if you want.

Thanks in advance.

I'm just impressed you fish 30 feet deep on an inland lake!! I hate fishing deep ;D

I've never made it on the lake. Much weeds out there? What types?

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

Few weed patches in 5-10 fow but the entire lake on the perimeter is sand and shallow about 100 yards offshore. This is my 1st year really fishing the inland lakes, I am use to fishing St. Clair since I was 8 thanks to our family cottage on Harsens Island.

I like fishing the weedlines out there, just figure out if they are on the outside or inside. I've never had what I would consider a great day out there but I have only been once this year and we caught some decent fish. I also like the large flats around the 10' depth.

I think that is the only lake where I have caught bass what I consider deep. Last summer I pulled up a couple from 32' that I saw on the sonar, one was a 4#er.

Use your electronics, and believe em.

The "Big Bay" as the locals call it on the SW corner of the lake is where all the locals tell you to go.

Watch the GPS as you come across the large main lake point going into that bay.  It's really irregular, w/ many inside turns in the 12' range.  Lots of "weed islands".

If pitching jigs is your thing, it can be done here.  Just flip into the open pockets.  I supposed a T rigged worm would work nicely also.

Surprisingly, dragging tubes can work just like Clair also.  Some of my best days there have been on tubes.  (Canadian Mist, and G3).

A pre rigged KD magnum bass buster, (2 hook weedless, in purple w/ a white strip) fished slowly around the "weed islands" works pretty good too.

There are some big fish in Whitmore.  Just gotta find em.

Last time out there with Kennedy, I caught a 4.5 # Walleye.

So much water.  So many lures.  So little time.
