Hey guys,
With both me and Jack mostly on the sidelines due to me getting married and him having boat problems, the EBA didn't end up doing very much.  So how about we get together soon to get things going for next season.  I'll get an email out to everyone today to try to suggest some dates.  EBA is a good club with a bunch of great guys, so I think it's worth getting back together and creating a schedule for the coming season.  With most of us back in commission with our boats and whatnot, it should be a good year.

Congrats Tom didn't know you were getting married.  This year maybe we can look at some inland lakes possibly? It seemed like we couldn't get enough people together for the big water this year for one reason or another. Looking forward to see the schedule.

Yep, got married a few months ago.   ;D  Life is good.  Looking forward now to getting back to fishing.  I haven't been out much this year.  All work and no play.  I can't wait to get back to the sport I love this year.

The EBA was registered last week as a TBF CLub with 6 members.  If anyone else would like to be involved with the TBf through the EBA, drop me a note and I'll get you registered.

We should plan a meeting around the first SPort show  (BW3's perhaps), and plan for 2010 season.

Have a safe and happy holiday season!!!

Hey Tom,,,,Congrats...I am glad to hear all is well....I started my own TBF club but I may have some schedule changes this year that will make me more available to fish during the week....We should link up...We still have to do that early walleye trip....

For your consideration.

When we have our meeting and decide when/where to fish this year, I'd like to see us add some inland lakes.
That way, if or when things don't work out for the big water, we can still fish.

I'm all about learning more about how to catch em.
Meeting new people to go fishing with.
Exploring new places I've never fished before.

I"d also like us to consider doing what we used to do.  Get a "guide" for the day on whatever body of water we are on to accelerate the learning process as well.

There are a number of really top notch fisherman in our area.  We should see if we can tap into that resource.

So much water.  So many lures.  So little time.

When and were does the Eastside Bass Anglers meet. Any info on what they're about, meetings, tournament schedule, Dues, etc... Looking for a club to fish with just for the fun of fishing.

I've spoken with several people, both current members, and curious individuals.  I've spoken with people who belong to other clubs. /Some tx fisherman, and some not.
In order for the club to move forward, there are several  areas of concern that I think we need to address.

Meetings:
When, where, how often, and purpose.

Fishing
What Lakes, who fishes with whom, what day of the week, how long?
Format: Keep track of weights, take notes, meet at lunch, etc.

Cost Should there be one, why, and if so, how much?

I think that these are just some of the things  we need to discuss.

I've met some really great guys in the club.  Fished with some great partners.  Made new friendships. I don't want to see this slip away.

To that end, I'm posting the following for your input and suggestions.

Meeting dates for consideration:
Dates, 1/29, 1/30, 2/ 5 or 2/6.
Meeting times Please suggest a time that will work for you.
Meeting location: Please suggest one.

I'm suggesting  BW's in Novi on Saturday 1/30 at 1:00 PM.
I am inviting all current members and prospective members to provide input by responding here.  In a week, I'll post the meeting info.  we can't let  this drag out and on because individuals are busy and need to plan.

Novi is pretty much central to our current members, but frankly if somebody knows a quieter place to meet around there  that would be great.  We need to talk, and be able to hear.

I will put out an email to the members I have an address for, but frankly I don't have very many.  Please spread the word.

I know Bass season is a few months away, but I believe there is a lot to accomplish prior to its start.

For potential new members  that want to know more about the EBA look under the section of the GLB forums "Bass fishing clubs", and click on the child board EBA, topic "Check out the EBA".  Or you can PM, or e mail me.

I plan to attend. Let me know when and were. You can email me at TheBassGuide@gmail.com . I'm in Canton so Novi location works for me. There is also a Gander Mountain there that would most likely let the club use their seminar room for a monthly meeting place. The one in Southgate lets the clubs in that area use theirs.

Revtro

I think I can do that date.

We've always been a free club, so my $.02 is to keep it that way.

I'm all for adding a couple of inland lakes, but the biggest problem last season wasn't weather, it was participation.  Both Jack and I were out of commission, so that accounts for a couple of the boaters.  I personally wouldn't want to do too many inland lakes with the great fishing St. Clair and Erie offers.  Plus, since we're an Eastside club, I think fishing on the East side is important.  Maybe we could consider this idea:  Pick two early season inland lakes when the fishing is a little easier on them.  Then pick inland lake alternatives in case we run into unfishable weather on the dates we plan to fish St. Clair or Erie.

Just a couple of ideas to think about.

Also, we should start having regular meetings.  I'd suggest a January meeting to kick off our planning, a March meeting to finalize the schedule, and a November meeting to close out the season.  If we schedule these for every year, we might get a little better at meeting.

Lastly, I have heard from a couple of guys who would prefer to meet on this side of town since we're an Eastside club.  I don't mind Novi myself, but maybe we can consider an occasional meeting on the East side to try to drum up more members.

I think we'll have a good club this year.  It's going to be good to get back on the water!  I really missed it last year.  Can't wait!!!  Rick, thanks so much for helping us get a meeting together and taking the initiative!

Hay guys I will be out of town that Saturday of the 30th. I have a ice fishing tournament @ Hamlin Lake that weekend. But i am sure the suggestions that everyone will make will be great. Looking forward to fishing with everyone this year work permitting. Hopefully the dates we fish will fall on my Saturdays off.

January 30th should work for me...if we meet a wee bit later, that would be better for me.  I have a date with the Huron River that morning...might not get back to Novi by 1pm.  Count me in.
