Staying the whole week at the Executive inn
Fishing Both Weekend/Overtime

Note:  Ot sure about Sat yet - there is a BFL and BASS event that weekend at a launch on Barkley 5 miles from the Dam - depends on how the fish are cooperating

Maybe we can all convoy down together?

What's the best route?

Yahoo says go thru Chicago, and take 57 down to Paducah.

I'm not liking that idea.
i was thinking I-69 to Indy then I-65 to I-64 to Paducah

or I-69 to Indy then I-70 to 57 to paducah.?

as you can see, I NEED Help!!!

Sitting here on Sat noght on the houseboat on Ky lake.

Thursday - the fish were biting for everyone - tons of limits, took 22 lbs to win (100 boats).  Pressuse went up with high skies on fri - weights were down, but still quite a few limits (not me of course-ugh).  Took about 17 lbs to win it - 12+ made the top 30 (200 boats).  The ultimate challenge today was also a tougher bite - but someone always crashes into them.  18.25 won it!  5.5 lber won the ultinmate challenge.

staying an extra week to fish for fun, and maybe go to the flw weigh in next week - lots of wrapped boats running around.

Just got home a couple of hours ago.  We had another great time down there and Jim, Jack and the whole NBAA staff did a great job.

Vic and I did not do as well as we liked but as always, had a great time hanging with old friends and meeting some new ones.  As Jack said, the bite slowed each day of the tournaments, but someone always seemed to find them.  There are some great fishermen out there.  On Thursday we had (3) 7+ lbers and a hand full of fives. Jack should be posting all the results in the next on the NBAA website within the next few weeks.

It will be interesting to follow the weights of the FLW boys next week.  The water gets pounded, not just from us visitors, but the locals also.  Saturday there was a 200 boat BFL out of Barkley.

Well it is time for some sleep. The season has begun.

wow! what a week. We got back yesterday at around 3 pm.
Felt like we did ok for not ever having been there before.
fished sunday thru saturday.  we didn't fish the weekend tournament.
got on a pretty good pattern on tuesday.   best five would have
been over 19#.  and caught 13 keepers.  spent wednesday and thurdsday
trying out new places with the same type of structure, and kept catching 3#ers everywhere we tried.  then friday, there were 4 or 5 boats in the
one area we fished, and the next two spots were getting hammered
also.  We only got 4 of the big girls for the day, and couldn't get number five
two were over 4# and we had 13.33 total.  and took 18th place.
saturday we fished even harder and covered more water, but with all the
pressure, i think the fish were all sore mouthed.  only got 3 small keepers
for the day.  and didn't weight them in.
we caught over 250 bass for the week.  1 over 5, 4 over 4# and lots of 2.5
to 3.5 .   great trip, we will be back next year.
I swear saturday afternoon was like a horror movie, so many bass boats
running around they looked like fleas on the lake.

yukonjack2

Found the same thing you did - just not that big bite consistanly - the big girls had mostly moved out, although a few were still shallow.  I had 11.5 lbs in 5 fish, just no big uns like in practice.  Had a monster on for a few before she got deep into the sypress trees that would have made us top 5 for sure - thats fishing.  All the boats on Sat - FLW guys pracising, BFL event, a big OH event, and BASS guys practicing - every good flat was crowded for sure - those fish were pretty beat up by weeks end.

Stayed another week for fun, and the decent bite continued - lots of 3's and 4's, although that 5+ eluded me once again.  Had an awesome time nonetheless, and can't wait for next year.
