Does anyone have a pair?  If so, how do you like them, and are they worth the $$?

Bought some in South Carolina and they are very nice and worth it, for me.  From driving with the sunroof open and sun beating straight down they are great, to running across LSC yesterday at 60+ they block "most" of the wind, but are great for site fishing.  I've had many others that fatigue my eyes by the end of the day and I've not had any problems with these.

The only issue I had was getting used to the frames hugging my eyebrows and getting the lenses "gunked up".  Carry a package of lense wipes for $1.99 and that problem was solved.

I'd buy a second pair without question.

I bought a pair last year and have been impressed with them both in vision and in comfort. They were worth the money.

Guess I should've said I have the harpoon frames with the 580 Silver mirror lenses.

I'm looking at the man o war with silver mirror lenses.  I've been having a really hard time sight fishing the past couple years with the glasses I'm using now, so I'm hoping to find a solid pair of glasses.  I fish shallow quite a bit, so they would definitely come in handy if they are worth it.

I tried those on and really liked them 'cause the side "inserts" or whatever really do block the peripheral light but I kept thinking about loosing one of them and having to make another order or just ordering several extras.

As for the lenses themselves, they have been worth the coin and I'm a cheapskate!  Full days on the water and no fatigue plus the clarity of spotting rocks patches in 10+ fow yesterday was nice.

The silver and green mirrors both have copper base, stay away from the blue mirror(gray base). I have the Fathoms in green mirror and love 'em. I've had them for 3 yrs and have no complaints, not a scratch on them and I wear them every day.

Have you had a chance to try on the silver mirror lenses?  If so, how do they compare to the green?

I've been using costas with amber lenses for 2 yrs now and they are pretty good, but if you can get your hands on a good pair of kaenons your better off.  Costas are a lot easier to find at a good price on ebay though because they're more popular.

I wouldn't necessarily say I'm cheap, but I love a good bargain.  I was looking at the man o wars because I have a semi-fat head, and found some for $170.  Well, I've been looking around and found a pair a Turbines (discontinued model for medium-large heads) with silver mirror lenses for half off ($119).  I'm really interested in the lenses more than the style, but they aren't bad looking frames.  I'll hopefully have them before my next trip out.  Thanks for the opinions guys.  If anyone's interested, I've had this site bookmarked because of the deals I've seen in the past.  They have carry a ton of brands of outdoor gear, and have really good deals on stuff: http://www.campmor.com/

Jeff - I bought the silver frame man-o-war's with the silver mirror for this season. You can borrow them if you'd like to see if you like them. Maybe we can hit the water together and you can sample them. I also have a black frame man-o-war with I think it is the grey lens that you could compare them to.

Check out steepandcheap.com. There are usually at least two or three pairs of Costas up each day for stupid amounts of money off. In the past few days I have seen the Bahia, George, pumphouse, osprey, tico, havana, eliminator, MP 2, and frigate models. I bought one of their lower-end models with interchangeable lenses several years back and loved them so much I went out and bought two more higher-end pair in copper and green mirror. In my experience over the past few years, if you plan to use them for sight fishing I would shy away from the grey. If you plan on specifically using these for shallow-water fishing on St. Clair, I'd go with the green mirror as I find they really cut through the glare and provide outstanding contrast given that slight green tinge St. Clair sometimes has in closer to shore. For all-around sight fishing and other every-day activities, copper has my vote all the way. Hope this helped some
