Actually had this happen last night!!  Martin and I were fishing our Wed. night Gander Mountain club tournament on Wabasis Lake last night when a very intense storm cell formed off in the distance and rapidly advanced overhead.  There was almost no lightening or thunder but the rain was so intense, and the drops so big that the bilge pump (2000 gph!) could not keep up.  Then there was the "lull in the storm" you always hear about and less than 1/4 mile away we see the rotation... then it gets faster and bigger... then it moves down towards the tree tops, then back up to the sky... then back down, all the while it's still dead calm where we are standing in the boat, we are still fishing by the way.... one eye on the rotating blackness and one eye on the weed line and our lines.

So... what did we do?  Well we had 3 keepers in the boat and our bite was not too bad... we kept fishing!!  In fact... not one boat (21 boats total) headed for shore/ramp.  It happened so fast and was done so fast there really wasn't much of an opportunity to do anything.  Then as fast as it appeared it was gone.  Total time elapsed:  about 5 minutes.  5 minutes later it was sunny again and the storm had moved east.  The top of the storm cloud was WAY up there and it was quite an awesome view.  My girlfriends boys and their dad were tubing on the lake at the same time and they did take some shelter at the ramp for a short period of time.   They had the same great story when they got home.  Their mom however was not all that impressed and will probably have some words for the ex at some point today!   >:(

By the way... Martin and I had the only 5 fish limit last night... 7.89 lbs (I didn't say we had a BIG limit!!  LOL!!) and good for 1st place.  Fish on... weather be darned!!

We are getting old, those of us who remember the old 'stop, drop and roll...'

Though I was told by one of my elders to use the BD method. I didn't really like it very much.
