Just found out Sanford lake is being dropped 4 ft to repair the earthen dam. The lake will not return to full pool until at least Oct 5th, If you have a tourney on it, you better get ahold of your TD. I spoke w/ Elmer Daniels from Top Bass and he is moving this Saturday's tourney to Wixom.

Get out there and take some pictures!

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

I'll be pickin' crankbaits off stumps for sure, actually hoping I can find my Costa's I lost in July.

How do you guys think this will affect the fish in the long run?

If there's still a lot of deep water available, they should do fine since the spawn is long  over. The bass may eat better if the small critters have less places to hide. Sometimes there can be a higher harvest rate if the bass are more concentrated, but more than likely, a lot fewer people will get on the lake for fishing during this time and there should still be enough deep water to keep the bass from being too concentrated.

You may get some new shoreline cover growing to provide a little more cover for fish when the water goes back up.
