having an occassional problem when rotating the screen back around at the console after viewing from the bow, goes black and turns off.  Not all the time, but enough to be a pain.
anyone else encountering "unit turning off by itself" problem ?  first time today, during one take blast off, unit unit turned off by itself.

Sounds to me like your power cable is coming unplugged or loose when you're twisting the mount.  Try loosening the cable under the console.  They're probably tie wrapped too tight and when you turn the unit, there's not enough slop and it's pulling the plug out just enough to lose connection intermittently.  After you loosen the cables, make sure you take the mount apart where the cables are seated in the "cable collector" and make sure everything is seated and lined up properly.
