Where can I get one for a fair price?

LAPORTE

Good question I need one as well ...

I would advise staying away from the White Keel guards/ Keel shields...They start to look bad in a hurry...

I installed an 8ft black Keel shield brand a few years ago and it has held up well.....

So what would you do with a boat like mine? Maybe a red one?

SethV

I would go with a glue-on Hambys.  They provide a bit of cushion and stay very well attached.  A bit more coin, but much better than the peel & stick ones.  They are great - when launching alone, I never tie up to the docks (docks are a northern thing anyway), I just beach the boat on the shoreline or on the ramp if it is not busy.  No need to tie up and no chance of getting the boat scratched by the dock.

Docks are a northern thing??? ???

If you are looking for a deal get ahold of Scott and see if they have any closeouts or clearance keel shields...A month ago they had a 25 percent off deal for vets and I could have helped you out there...

A lot of ramps in the south do not have docks. True story.

Lived in Kansas and Oklahoma for over 25 years lots of ramps, no docks. The big difference is that there was a lot more shore line to pull your boat up on. My Ranger has had a Hamby on it for 17 years and is still tight to the hull. I still prefer to run my boat up on the ramp vs pulling up to a dock. A lot less damage to the hull from a ramp vs. bumping the sides up against the dock.
But when it comes to protecting your investment don't skimp, go with the Hamby.

Have a blessed CHRISTmas and new year

I agree with sethV and reelman on the Hamby's.  My last 3 boats have had them, and I will never have a boat without.  The downside is they have to be dealer installed, but they're definitely better than the peel and stick kind.  Of course they cost more, but well worth it when you consider how much a bass boat cost.  Also agree on the comments about white.  They will discolor in no time, and any dealer can tell you that.  I had a black one on the keel of my last boat that had a white bottom and it looked fine.
