Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel announces freshwater initiative

CLINTON TOWNSHIP — When it comes to Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel's vision to encourage recreational and business development using the Clinton River and Lake St. Clair, relayed Dec. 7 in his first State of the County address, Clinton Township Supervisor Robert Cannon said he's looking forward to it.

Cannon said the three branches of the Clinton River that connect in Clinton Township provide "tremendous opportunities" for recreational development, which in turn will bring businesses and residents.

Hackel specifically mentions the potential for more bass fishing tournaments. Does this mean they will actively begin to court major bass tournaments to Lake St. Clair? Read the entire story on C & G News.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.
