Navionics app for a data phone

I came across the navionics app for my cell phone.  I didn't purchase it yet but I am thinking about it. $15 bucks to have another gps with depth and detail is a good deal.  Even If I only use it a few times. And you do not need service to use it.  Does anyone else have this app?  Do you like it?

I have it and I love it. But, I also have the biggest screen available on my phone. I dont know what it would be like on a normal phone. It doesnt have every lake in the state, but has most. You can set waypoints and everything. Its impossible to use while you're running, but moving slow, its great. I got mine for $9.99. I can see even those prices go up. I would highly recommend it.

I got the app on my iPhone.  It works great.  It has wrecks and rock piles and other great stuff already programmed into it.  I find it useful when looking for new spots.  They really did their homework on this one.  I bought two of them.  One for the Great Lakes Region and one for the midwest region.  If you see me at the Novi Ultimate Fishing Show, ask me about it and I will show it to you.  I have the Great Lakes Region on the phone now.  I can remove them or put them on the iPhone whenever I sync it.  Good stuff.

Not sure on the phone app but I have the Navionics app for the iPad and it's very good!  If the phone version is as good, if not better, then I think you'll be satisfied.

I have the App on my iPhone. I have both the great lakes and lakes east. I use them often when talking fishing with customers and friends They work real well and have some cool features. The downside is they are a little slow to open and load at times. I am curious how they work with the iPhone 4 instead of my 3G. My guess is they would be much faster.

Are they worth it? Yes I think they are... if they were faster they would be worth alot more.

I'm not sure about Blackberry. I have East and South on my phone and they are great for just looking around and planning. I wouldn't expect it to replace a boat's GPS but they are nice and have a lot of lakes. When they first came out they were $50 each and not many people bought them. At $10 each they are a good deal.

I was browsing around the iTunes Store the other evening and noticed that around December 29, 2010, Navionics came up with a new and improved app for the iPhone.  It included the USA and Canada.  It also allowed you to set your own parameters for a map.  In other words, when you download a map, it asks you to set the area of the map in the US or Canada.  It eliminated all the navionics apps for different sections of both countries and allowed you to make your own sections.  If you see me at the UFS this weekend, ask me about it and I will be happy to show you.  It was $14.99 compared to the others which were $9.99 each which if you wanted all the US and Canada would have cost upwards of about $60 to $100.  If you don't fish the Canadian waters of LSC and Erie then you can purchase the USA only for $9.99.
