I couldn't take it any longer. When I heard yesterday that today was going to be awesome, I put a half day of vacation in to take the boat out.

I got on the lake about noon. I have never seen Muskegon as flat as it was today. Wearing a pair of jeans and a light jacket, I ripped across the lake. I tied on a crankbait, and went to a few places that I normally catch pike in, and made a few casts. Nothing. I look into the water, and I see bottom just as clear as day. Wow!  I look at the depth finder. 12 feet!  And I see the bottom!  On Muskegon lake!  Then, the urge to ride and explore hits. I turn on the down and side imaging and take a look around for a bit. Then, the big motor fires, and its a 70 mph blast to another spot. Several other spots.

I end up in Snug Harbor. Looking some things over. Looking for weeds. Found them. Made a few casts in hopes of getting bit by a toothy critter, but no such luck. So, as I am looking at the side imaging, I hear a sound I have never heard before. I look up into this scraggly, lonely tree close to the water. There is a pair of eagles sitting there. A pair!  Never before have I seen a pair of eagles. It was breathtaking. There is always one eagle in this tree, but never two. I got goose bumps. Every hair on my body stood up, and I moved as close as I could to them for pictures. I only had my cell phone on me unfortunately. But, I did the best I could. I hope you guys can see them in the pics. I cropped them on my phone, so they are a little better. Just wanted to share with everyone.

After that, I concentrated on emptying the gas tanks. She's on E now, and ready to be winterized. I am officially ready for the crap that has been forecasted for tomorrow.   As long as its gone by March. Just don't want to look at it past then. Come on Spring.

You're right... there always seems to be an eagle in that tree.  In fact we've nicknamed it "Eagle Tree."  Never seen a pair of them in it though.  Pretty cool.
Addicted to fishing.  All the time, any species, anywhere!!  Especially in West Michigan!!!
