Hawg Tank

Got a guy from Cadillac by the name of Gordy Tessman who has two "Hawg Tanks" that he uses at fishing shows. A friend of mine worked a show for him and gave him my name because I am newly retired, and he felt I might want to work. Wrong. Retired means you don't work, for a while I hope anyway. In any case, he is looking for someone who can get up in front of a crowd on one of those fish tanks they have at shows and talk, introduce pros etc. Here is what he sent me.
"I'm looking for a bass fisherman who is interested in furhtering his career and getting paid for it. I;m  gordy Tessman, the owner of Hawg Tanks 1 and 2 which are mobile fish aquariums holding 3000 gallons. These tanks are used to do fishing demos and lure demos and seminars at sport shows and fairs and any place that hires the tanks. The job would invlolve traveling around the midwest with the tank doing seminars and lure demos, working with kids and speaking to audiences.  There will be some TV exposure and radio interviews as well as meeting celebrities and big name fishing stars. You need to know bass fsihing and tournament fishing and knowledge of other fish in general.  A lot of benefits can come from this job. Now, I'm retired and probably will kick myself for not pursuing this myself, but right now it just doesn't work out for me and Gordy asked me to put this info on my teardropbass.com website, but before I do I wanted to give this board a shot because I know there are some pretty avid and aggressive bass anglers here that may want to do this.

If I was only retired and had all that time to play, and did not have to chase 3 kids around (all of which are under the age of 4) !!!!

I guess I will have to wait another 18 years, if I make it that long to retire, and until my kids grow up a little more. Then and only then, and then just maybe the wife will say okay as long as you turn that pay check over to me!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, I imagine you need a fair amount of weekdays available, but it looks like fun at times. Steve Miller did it at a few of the shows last winter for someone. Looked like he had a good time. People even mistook him for a celebrity quite often...

I might like to do it, but not so many weekends and I don't have the weekdays off. I guess the only way to really know what it exactly entails is to call the guy up.

Thanks Dan for thinking of the guys and gals here. There may be a hearty soul or two who would love to do this.

i talked to one of the guys about these tanks this past winter at the Classic, we struck up conversation becuase I saw the trailers came from Cadillac.  Its not an easy job monitoring the tanks all the time and setting up and tearing down displays but fun at the same time.  Going to the big events and hobb-nobbing with everybody.  pretty cool.  I guess they do treat you pretty well as far as hotel rooms and food and such, but very limited to the type of person that could do it...tough to have a family and do it.

I think a cool retired job in bass fishing would be driving the spectator and camera boats at all the events.  They hook you up with a fully wrapped truck and boat combination, plus they give you lunch everyday...priceless!  They even gas, oil, and maintain the boat for you....all you do is trailer it around, clean it once and a while and chase fishermen...oh yeah unless your the guy I road with, which means you also had to go to the bathroom every 15 minutes....but everybodies different.
