How about that?  Almost made the top 10. Two spots ahead of Toledo Bend even. You east siders are very lucky guys. I looked the list over twice, and didn't see Muskegon, White, or Mona anywhere.  ???

TCook

FISH HARD!!!

Mike S.

Ouch!!!!!  Nothing like going right for the jugular. But, they're good enough to keep me entertained. At least Michigan made the list.

Team houston

Have not looked at the list yet but I am positive it should be in the top 10.

MBell

I saw that list, I don't think it's in order???  I didn't see what criteria they used, but since Falcon is #1 it had to be all about the fishing.  Wawasee is better than O.H. Ivie???  My guess is they took the checks they recieved from the various chambers of commerce and ordered them by amount haha.  Here's the link.

Is Charlevoix that good??
Charlevoix is good but man I would think Burt or Torch would be better.  And wouldn't Muskegon, White and all those GREAT fishing lakes be included as part of Lake Michigan????

TheFishinPollock

Burt and Char are about even for me , Torch is a giant sandpit.   Very hard to fish out of. Just ask Dan.

That giant sandpit has some huge smallies when you do find fish.

None of those lakes up there are any good! Just go to St. Clair!

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

Yeah, I was kind of surprised to see Wawasee ahead of Dale Hollow and Eufala etc.

PIGSMALLIE

Wawasee is a great lake!!!!..It gets absolutely pounded allthe time.2 or 3 tournaments every weekend from mid march through mid october. It always churns out good sacks for Nothern Indiana...I do absolutely love St.Clair too.

Firefighter Jeff

Ummm I didn't say Wawasee wasn't a good lake, just surprised it was ahead of some of those others is all.  :)

djkimmel

We have lots of great fishing up here thanks to all those natural lakes with weeds! I mean - aquatic plants.

  LMAO  Yes indeed  !!!    :)

Well well, anyone who fishes LSC (#13 overall) will fish Erie (#4 overall). eventually. I know the further East (Pelee, toward Cleveland) the fish may get bigger, but the quality of bass fishing, to me, is nearly the same.

Either way, LSC and Erie are clearly established with Lake Champlain (#5 overall) as the top 3 Smallmouth bass fisheries in America ..... and maybe the world. So says KVD himself.

Thanks Dan for bringing year round Catch and Release to Michigan

Infisherman agrees with Mojo (Erie #1 and St. Clair #2)  - There are numerous locations across the state the provide prime smallmouth and largemouth bass fishing – but did you know that In-Fisherman put Lake St. Clair on their Top 10 Smallmouth Bass Fishing Spots in the World? Read their article to see why! http://www.michigan.gov/documents/dnr/Print_-_The_Worlds_Top_10_Smallmouth_Spots_380234_7.pdf

I wish they wouldn't write those articles.  That's all we need is a bunch of people coming up here to Michigan and finding out that our water, LSC and Erie are really #1 and #2 in any order.  I like to keep it all a secret myself.   SSSSHHHHH!!!   St. Clair for numbers and Erie for size.   SSSSHHHHH!!!!!  I like the comment about paying off Chambers of Commerce around those lakes.  That's funny.   :P
