When it comes to buying tackle and equipment??

I have been experimenting with a technique and lure not normally associated with Smallmouth bass fishing...I went out Monday and it worked better than expected but I only had one package of the lures...So I went to BPS today and bought them out of the hot lure...
That got me to thinking....How many times I had bought 10 packs of "One day wonders" only to have them fizzle out after time...I have a man cave full of old lures that were the hot lure for a short time and then struggled to catch fish on them again.  I could start a tackle store of plastics, no doubt...

Of course Like any true blood angler I wouldn't part with those One day wonders....Just like clothing designs and hair styles everthing has a way of cycling back....I may need a biggger man cave though if this trend continues for a few more years.. ;D

Going to some tournament somewhere around the globe and learning what the hot baits are supposed to be there and getting way too stinking many of them and never using any of them.  Then doing the same thing for the next tournament and so on.

This is no fun! Everyone on here will tell the SAME story! ;D

PS: I have lots of old lures you might be interested in...??

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

I only buy a bunch of something of it proves itself over time. I have a tub in my boat full of duplicates of my favorite crankbaits. If it works good, I buy at least 5 of them at a time. The same with my favorite plastics. I usually order my favorite worms 20 packs at a time. I'm already on my second order of them from BPS.

I actually bought into a system that limits me.   ???

I love my Falcon tackle system.  Each tray only holds so many hard baits, so it forces me to trim the non-producers each season.  Each bait is cradled and doesn't tangle, but has a finite number of baits it will hold.

I keep my soft plastics in Falcon/Plano soft bags, so I tend to carry a lot.  I am always on the lookout for a new system for soft plastics.

I'm kinda  p*ssed that Falcon sold the rights to Plano for the FTO name.  I bought into a tackle system, but then the company decided to abandon me to Plano.  I understand that Plano saw it as a business venture, but I hate that they resized the boxes to fit Plano dimensions.   >:(

Neglecting my termanal tackle. I go to get the crankbaits and soft plastics  and end up running dangerously Low on proper size weights and hooks. I hate buying the necessaries like that it's like getting your faveorite food from your faveorite restaurant and there is no silverware to eat with!

Most people have bad habits like picking their nose, scratching their butt, or privates. I think the bad habits on this forum ain't so bad.  ::)  Now I can tell my wife that their are others like me that don't do those things, but have too much tackle just like me. :o

Bad habbits?  I don't have any bad habbits.  I am however addicted to buying fishing tackle.  But that's not a bad habbit!!!!   8)

Me too.

Overall, I just don't change up enough.  Rather than making subtle changes with my presentation I often change what structure or cover I am fishing or the entire presentation alltogether.  I had this idea of rereading and studying all the Day-on-the-Lake articles in Bassmaster and start using the pros patterns for changing techniques and fishing spots.
