Trolling motor problems

I have a Minn Kota Maxxum trolling motor, the red arrow on the top of my trolling motor that shows me the direction the motor is moving is not working, the trolling motor moves in what ever direction I move the pedal, but the arrow just sits there, any ideas how to fix it?

There are two plastic gears that turn the arrow. They are less than a buck a piece. Pull the 4 screws out of the top, and you will see the problem right away. Find a schematic of that motor, and get your part number. I had to buy so many replacement parts for my Maxxum, that its not even funny. Previous owner was very hard on it. The cheapest place I found to get parts is a website called fish307.com.  I think I might even have one of those gears here at home.

It shouldn't be too hard to fix like Mike S said. I usually get my parts from Northland Marine. Here's a photo of mine with the top off:
