Went to the State game last night in Grand Rapids and watched them struggle against GVSU. Conflicted fan. Went to GVSU, but have followed Drew Neitzel all the way from 9th grade on to MSU. Grand Valley had MSU by 16 pts. late in the first half. Really played tough D and led until 3:27  in the game. State got very fortunate with the refs. Very dubious calls that let them back in it. GVSU is ranked 5th nationally in Division 2 and they looked very good. Some loss of focus late by a couple of Lakers, or they would have won. Started playing 1:1 instead of as a team. They certainly weren't intimidated. Izzo has his work cut out for him this year. Heard that next year though he has 3 of the top 5 top prep stars coming to State.
