would a 10 lb leader from p=line cxx be too weak to make a connection
on a swim jig combo? i'm using 30lb power pro for my main line and since it's the diameter of 8 lb i'm thinking it might work for this rig.

i know i use 10 lb  cxx for my tube rod so it should work for this too?

thanks guys.. p.s.s i 'm out of my 17 lb stren i normally use so that's why i used this

i use 10-12lb floro leaders on most my braid setups - however you could easily get away with heavier line, especially for a moving bait presentation.

Exactly.  Better to have a heavier leader line than one that is too thin... the braid will cut thru a leader that is thinner in diameter a lot easier than a leader that is the same or a little bigger in diameter.

If you only throw swim jigs in the open water maybe, but if you really get into the nitty-gritty with the swim jig, something I think you should do to get the most out of it, I think you want to go a little heavier if you have line to do so with.

You can get away with 10 until the big one gets away with your jig.

If you're throwing it under docks, in darker water, through lots of various cover, try it without a leader. I do that often and it works. No knot to break. No 'soft' leader to saw off on a dock post. Etc.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

no worries mate, i found some 17 lb mono- Suffix  for only 3.00 on clearance. now i don't worry about the weaker line breaking or cutting the stronger. hey Dan , thanks for the vote on me getting a bigger one :D

I use anywhere from 10 - 20 pound P-Line 100% or Seaguar Inviz when the water is clear. If the water has some color I use just the braid with no leader and catch a lot of fish.
