BIGSHOW

Great show. Makes you wanna go fishing. Wish I could hone in on some of them erie spots. I need to give up a day and go searching

BIGSHOW

Almost forgot. Does anyone know the limits for this tournament? As far as distance. Can they go in Canada? Or how far south? Sorry im just full of questions

cameraguy

Channel 34? You don't have HD?

The boaters can go anywhere they can get to via water as long as they have the proper licenses.

dartag

the eastern boundry was a line from cleavland across to chatam ont.   The northern boundry was the blue water bridge.

The first day my pro went all the way to the blue water bridge from elizabeth park.  Over 80 miles one way.  I figure with all the running around we covered over 200 miles that day.

BIGSHOW

As far as the HD I didn't even check the HD channels. But yeah I do have HD. Guess I just got exited to see that it wasn't on one of them pay channel that I just hit record. blue water bridge is a hike from elizebeth park, wow. So you were a co angler or amatuer or whatever they call it? Did you do any good dartag? I would love to do it.

Redbone

Thanks for the heads up.  I will set the DVR tonight.

I do love that... 3 BILLION square miles of water and 3 of the top ten are fishing a cast away from each other!!?!

At least it wasn't the Firecracker!! ;D

The bass have probably moved a couple hundred feet by now.

One brutal lesson I have learned about LSC...What was hot for a week or two one year may never get hot again...... ;)

One thing I did notice....Most of the local and big water guys were using pro poles and Butt seats and those southerners were fishing without them....After a day "bull riding" the bigger waves I would be willing to bet those guys were wishing they had them on board....

Seems to be a common practice, or maybe a requirement?? when you hit the bigtime! I can't do it. I've seen a few of them stumbling and worn out after but some of them do work out quite a bit.

What other sport requires such a combination of mental and physical skills over such a long period of time, and multiple days to boot?!? They really are athletes!

That "spot" is actually a large area. I've fished this area for years and like most areas, some years it's great and some years it's not. This past season it was pretty good. The last two seasons it wasn't so good. The two years before that it was great. It all comes back to what's going on at that time.
An example is, this week I fished the Detroit River and slammed the smallies on a key little area. Tomorrow and the next day, I probably won't be able to buy a fish there and I'll have to find out what's going on at that time. It's all about whats happening at the moment in fishhing. ~ Len B.

That's fishing. I keep trying to tell people spots aren't the real answer. Confidence and adjustments, when to stick it out, when to move. Those things are more key than spots. There's lots of spots. And areas. Over the years I've seen so many ridiculous 'battles' over 'spots' when sometimes a better spot was nearby or somewhere else. Or just fishing an area worked better for the winner. Or multiple areas.

One thing to remember about shows too - they are easier to do when the angler(s) is fishing in one or two places. If they caught some key fish while running around earlier or later, you might not see that on the show because it isn't as easy for the camera boats to always keep up and stay on them. Especially on places as big as Erie and St. Clair.

I remember losing Steve Clapper the one morning in the FLW even he won because it was so rough. It took us a while to find him again. We might not have found him if the FLW people hadn't had the GPS on him.

It might be that Nixon caught all his key bass out there near the Belle River Hump or maybe he caught a couple of them there and others somewhere else? I don't know for sure since I wasn't there. In fishing, especially tournament fishing, I tend to mainly believe only what I have seen with my own two eyes! ;D Anglers can be real tricky...

The Belle River Hump has all kinds of rock piles and weed clumps around it. Like other parts of the lake, there are probably several key areas or spots to find even if someone is already sitting where you wanted to be. There's a lot of bass in that lake. They sure aren't all in one place. I used to remind myself that all the time when I fished tournaments.
