Hey all,
Our next meeting is scheduled for Feb. 3.  Here is what we need to hammer out with the schedule:   I created this new thread to help with the confusion.

Here are some suggestions from guys.  (Just to get this all onto one page)

Tom's Comments:
On April 21, we'd be missing 2 boaters (Jack and Mark) which would be tough for a "Day on the Lake" event since they're generally so well attended.  We need the boaters.  On the 28th we'd only be missing one boater.  Personally, I'm fine with the 21st or 28th. if Jack or Mark were able to arrange to be there.  But I think Mark is out of town and Jack's fishing some other event...

Not sure what happened to May 5.  Jack, was that not an option??  Originally Mark was going to be gone, but now it looks like he'll be in town.  So does that mean everyone could make the 5th?  If so, maybe we should do Kent on May 5 and do LSC on June 9.

Another scenario that might work would be if we could get DK to do Cass on May 5 (So both Kid and Mark can make the Day on the Lake event) and just do Kent in April.

Kid's (Luke) Comments:
Maybe you can write a couple proposals down and have everyone vote on them at the meeting. I won't be able to attend, but I can let you know which one i like best.
April 28th-Club Kent (Mark and I are both gone)
May 5th-Club with Dan Kimmel on Cass
May12th-DK open
June 9th-Club on LSC
July 21st-Club on Cass
August 11th or 18th-Wayne Carpenter on LSC (either one)
September 1st-Club on Kent with PB

With this schedule we will only have one event where everyone can't make it. (Pending future schedules)

The most recent version that needs tweaking:  Taking into account the above comments, register your opinion.

April
28th - CLUB - Dan Kimmel - Cass  (No Kid or Mark)   :(

May
12th - DK OPEN St. Clair (most of us will be there)
19th - CLUB - LSC (No Kid)  OR
26th - CLUB - Kent - Holiday, but everyone can make it.

June
9 - CLUB Kent or LSC (Depending on May choice)

July
21 - CLUB Cass

August
11 - CLUB LSC - Day on the Lake w/Wayne Carpenter  OR
18 - CLUB LSC - Day on the Lake w/Wayne Carpenter

Sept
1 - CLUB Kent - Day on the Lake w/McCarter

Jacks Comments:

It is not easy to accomodate everyone, but I'm trying my best here -  The C&R doesn't open till 4/28, so, the 21st is a little dicey legally as well as weather wise. I am not available may 2-11 (stren at  ky lake and myannual trip down there), and the 12th is the DK open.  so I picked the 26th at Kent so as to have everyone be able to attend rather than the 19th.   Jun 9 LSC, and Jul 21 Cass are ok as planned by me.  Aug is totally booked for me, so just vote your best date there - If you need the big boat, we may need to swith LSC that month with Cass from july, as Sep is also a holiday weekend and LSC would be nuts that day as well.

Jack,
Thanks for all the hard work on the schedule.  We'll get it...no worries.  I think everyone realizes that we won't be able to structure the schedule for everyone to make every event.  It's the way it goes.  Since the C&R season isn't open on the 21st, that date should come off the list as an option.  I guess we have to stick with April 28th.  I don't see any other option.  That makes that decision a whole lot easier.

To accommodate everyone, I think we should stick with may 26th even though it's a holiday.  If we can get in early to Kent, it shouldn't be a problem.  I fished the holiday weekend last year there and it didn't get crazy until the early afternoon.  Maybe we just fish 6hrs.  Heck, maybe we can even have a BBQ afterwards then!  That sounds like a groovy idea.

Since the date in August doesn't matter to anyone, and since Jack can't make any August date, I suggest the 18th on St. Clair.  We'll just have to see if we can recruit a couple of extra boaters if we have too many nonboaters.  I think this is the most fair scenario to everyone.  So here's where it's at so far then:

Is this schedule ok with everyone?

April
28th - CLUB - Dan Kimmel - Cass  (No Kid or Mark)   :(

May
12th - DK OPEN St. Clair (most of us will be there)
26th - CLUB - Kent - Holiday, but everyone can make it.

June
9 - CLUB LSC

July
21 - CLUB Cass

August
18 - CLUB LSC - Day on the Lake w/Wayne Carpenter  (No Jack)  :(

Sept
1 - CLUB Kent - Day on the Lake w/McCarter

Thanx Tom - way to Summarize.  I think the last thing to do is to confirm Dan, Wayne and Brian  for those dates.  I know Dan mentioned someplace in the previous thread the 28th of April was ok.   I'll get wayne to  confirm for the August LSC date with the June LSC as a backup if he can't make it.  I'll also check with Brian as well.   I know Mike Schoemann had mentioned Mike Moran may be available for qa day on the lake as well at Kent - maybe the 26th, or in conjunction with Brian in september.  I'lll post after talking to each of them, but like the schedule as listed.

thanks

Hi Guys and Gals,

First off let me say thanks to Tom and Jack for putting this together. I know its not easy trying to please everyone out there especially when you have guys like me who are gettin old and can't remember anything anymore. I just realized yesterday that I will be out of town on May 5th for my daughters graduation from CMU. I'll also be in Florida from April 20th till the 28th so don't set your dates by my schedule. I know the beginning of June is going to be busy too since my son graduates from high school and we'll be having a party probably on June 9th or 10th for him. I'll try and make all the events I can.

I agree with Jack on having to wait until the season actually opens for C&R events. This should be a no brainer.

Looking forward to meeting all the new people at the next meeting.

Nice work on schedule. I'm going to try and make as many as  I can. Things are up in the air at the moment since I don't know if my partner is going to fish any NBAA or other tournaments next year. In addition my son had a great time the last time I fished so I'm sure he will want to fish some of the lakes, not necessarily with me   ;)

Kevin Barrows just let me know that he's gonna try to make the dates with DK and McCarter.  He knows those lakes very well and will be a great help for the D.O.L. events on those lakes.

Hey Jack & Tom,

I'll give you my cudos for the hard work to get the schedule ironed out too.  I'm fine with the holiday Saturday in May, and I'm fine with the 18th in August.

Hope y'all enjoyed the show.  I wasn't able to make it this year.

The dates look fine to me.  Whatever changes if any need to be made should be ok just not Sundays.  Good job putting the schedule together.  Thanks.

Hey thanks to Tom and Jack, good work on the schedule. I have nothing planned on any of those dates so I should be able to make it. I'm excited to get out there and fish more this year than I did last.

I'm cheap - Let me know when and where. I think I have another boater - Mike Moran to join us for the club. So if Jack cant make it - I'll have a place to park my butt and free up a seat for another non-boater. Hey - good to see all this off season action on the web. You freak are also addicted. OR is it the other way around - you all are seeing me become addicted. Thanks freaks.

Hey - has anyone caught that Adventure Travel Alliance .com show on TV ?? They were catching 130 lb BASS !!! (Actually when I called he told me they were from the perch family - (dorsal fin looked like a perch - the entire rest of the fish was ALL bass). They were running 8 inch chartrush / tiger Rapalas - broken backs. What a show !! I want to go. And so can you ........  :o
Thanks Dan for bringing year round Catch and Release to Michigan

I can do the 28th of April (opening day). Not sure about May 5th - I think I'm helping ABA on that day.

Ok - not remembering too well - it looks like the ABA is on the 20th, not the 5th. It seems like I had something on the 5th already, but I'm not 100% sure now. Let me know if Cass will NOT be 4/28.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

Anything new said at the meeting on saturday? what was said and decided?? anything at all?? :-\' Also, is anyone interested in getting club shirts? T-Shirts? Polo shirts? any input from anyone? Rev said that he would design them if needed.

Revtro

We took care of our TBF roster for those who decided to be involved with that.  Jack collected the funds and is in the process of registering our club.

We talked about the boater/non-boater ratio for our first event and decided that we'd likely need 6 boaters for this event.  We took a poll to see who's coming.  I will post a registration for that event as the date gets closer.

We ate copious amounts of pizza rolls, wings, chilli, cheese, ruben dip, etc.  Went to bed kind of sick to my stomach. :-\'

I forgot the t-shirt item.  My fault.  I was pre-occupied being the host that night.  I love the idea though.  Count me in if the guys decide they'd like to do it also.  Can we have a logo embroidered on a shirt we already own?  I have a couple of Columbia type fishing shirts, I wouldn't mind having a logo on.  Or what about hats?

I also gave away some Hardnose 5" Freefall worms for the guys to try out.

Jack and I divided up the responsibilities of ensuring our hosts for the Day on the Lake events.  I emailed Brian McCarter today and he said as long as there are no ABA events scheduled for that day, he's in.  Waiting for Jack to speak with Wayne to make sure he's a go for LSC.  DK is a go for his event as you can see in this thread.

We did not set a March meeting, but as Jack left he asked me to start working on it.  So I'll post about a March meeting soon.  How does BW2 on Hall Rd. sound so that the Northwestern guys don't have to drive so far?  Then maybe in April we can do it Southwest somewhere for those guys???  Just a thought.

I think that's pretty much everything...at least that I can think of at the moment.

I can get you anything you want done with whatever you want on it. We do already have a logo you say? That obviously makes things alot easier. We can doo embroidery or screening.

Revtro

We do have a logo, but honestly I think it's ready for some updating.  I'm gonna put in some time working on it and see what I can come up with.  What format would be best for me to send it to you in?  I can provide in just about any format you want, vector or bitmap.

If you are interested in an ice fishing meeting my place is open. I am across the street from Big Crooked Lake between Brighton and Howell. A bit of a drive for the east-siders though. I've only dropped a line through the ice 2 times. Just a thought as to an event/meeting.
