Some think its either walled lake or wolverine lake

fiker

There are only a few people who know on this board, and most if not all have been sworn to secrecy.

So much water.  So many lures.  So little time.

I thought I heard the name was changed to Lake Zona anyway so I would think you just need to wait for new maps to be printed and then just look at the map?!?

We are spoiled in Michigan... thank goodness!

Only a few thousand more lakes left on my 'new lakes to fish' list... :D

I've heard Walled Lake 5 or 6 times. I'm guessing Cass.

It's gotta be somewheres in Oakland county.  Them homes are just to big to be anywhere else and  down right close together .

definitely not Cass.  No huge boats playing funny music roaring around.

You need to get out more... it's been the in thing for quite a while to cram bigger and fancier homes onto lots of lakes I go to all over Michigan. Shoot! Just all over everywhere. Even on the Grand River in Lansing they are putting up more McMansions and silly things like giant, roofed floating docks for a pontoon in a shallow, muddy bay!! ;D

I was thinking Gerandegut bay (or however you spell it?) or that bay where the guy sometimes runs out and tells you you can't bring your boat through here. Or the other bay that is sometimes private and sometimes not?

Maybe Lake Orion then? Maybe Lake It Doesn't Matter because we have so many good lakes full of bluegills and bass that don't get pressured as much as we think they do? I remember having a talk about that with Dave Reault years ago. He just had a big smile on his face as he talked about all the big bass he was catching.

I had a co-worker of my wife's challenge me recently to catch bass on her lake in another part of the state. No bass in there, she says. We can't catch them. It takes by less than 5 minutes to find out why with a few questions and tell her I will take her challenge.

Last time I went to a lake just like she describes up North a little, I had one of the best days of my life because the people up there apparently don't know a lot about bass biology. It was loaded with bass that were just dying of old age waiting for someone to throw a lure near them! That's what I did! What a blast! There are many, many lakes and rivers in Michigan, and the Great Lakes region like this. Even in states where people don't think something like that exists.

I remember the first federation tournament on Mullett Lake sometime in the early 90's. The locals came to the weigh in and were blown away! Many of them said they didn't even know there were bass in there! And that was when the bass were a lot smaller. I caught big bass for that event and it was a little 4 1/2 pounder. Lots of 2-3 pounders weighed.

I still run into people on lakes in Michigan that have no idea what swims in their lake! The more I hear that, the more I salivate thinking about the chance to get on their water!!!

Even on lakes where most people know there are bass, there are still many opportunities untapped or barely tapped! Like the time my old partner Derek (the person I fished the 2012 bob o frog event with) went up the river on Intermediate Chain and came back down with a winning catch of big largemouth bass! People were like, "'what the?!?' we thought there were only smallmouth bass here and only smallmouth bass could win anything." Yeah, I know. That's why all those largemouth were big and dumb. Well, that year anyway! They were a little smarter the next year... ;D

I know I'm preaching to the choir with many of you, but as Z pointed out in the show, there are tons of lakes like that one just waiting to be fished where the big fish are. We are lucky, lucky, lucky to be surrounded by so much good water. (I can hear Will Robertson saying, 'happy, happy, happy.')

Well if somebody will just melt the ice, raise the lake levels, and open the season, I'll be happy happy happy.

I will try to help with #3. Can't promise anything before that last Saturday in April for bass in Michigan in 2013 but who knows about 2014 or 2015?

I imagine #1 will be taken care of soon. Not sure about that 2nd thing though. It was discussed last night by state and federal persons.
