2013 Cash for Bass Saturday St Clair Tour #2 RESULTS

The second of five qualifying events on Lake St Clair brought another impressive cache of bass to the scales. 35 team participated in an 8 hour slug fest on St Clair that resulted in every team weighing in a limit except one. And from what I heard that was a culling error!

Fishing uncharacteristically tough, St Clair started to show its true colors with numerous 5lb plus fish weighed in including two fish over 6 pounds. We also had a noticeable increase in the amount of dead fish brought to the scales and even more that didn't make it through the weigh-in process. Rest assured that we are discussing alternatives to alleviate the problem once the fish are brought up and even discussing different ways to release the fish. I will elaborate on that in the coming week.

First and foremost folks, I cannot stress it enough, FISH CARE STARTS WITH THE ANGLERS from the time the fish is caught to the time you place them in the tub....PLEASE do what YOU can to minimize the stress on the fish! If you have any questions about what you can be doing to help during the day please do not hesitate to ask anyone of the Cash for Bass staff and we will answer any and all questions you have. The water has really warmed up and fish care needs to be brought to the forefront! This actually changed the top standings this week! 1 pound penalties hurt!

Ok now for the results:

1st Place - Clauser and Robiadek   22lbs 4ozs
2nd Place - Ward and Glover   20lbs 3ozs
3rd Place - Gillis Gillis   20lbs 0oz
4th Place - Sessink Henrich   19lbs 12ozs
5th Place - Beale Brown      18lbs 13ozs

1st Place Big Bass - Stoltz Trombley   6lbs 4ozs
2nd Place Big Bass - McGrane Mann   6lbs 1oz

There were also 5 MYSTERY CASH awards drawn randomly from the remaining teams! Ca$h for just showing up! We also had 5 random gift packs given away full of products from our fine sponsors. Big thanks to Jack-IT Products for continuing the support of what we do!

NOTICE!!!! The next Cash for Bass event is a make-up day for the inland Thursday Series put on by Jeff Throop. It will be on UNION LAKE July 25th! The St Clair Thursday event is NOT taking place this week due to the Everstart tournament.

Also this weekend Sunday July, 28th will be the second Cash for Bass Sunday Open on Lake St Clair out of Harley Ensign. Check in begins @ 5:00am.

Thanks for the results as always Mini. Thanks for taking some action on keeping bass alive. Since it is so warm, I'm starting to get a couple calls or email on this topic in general and yes, it has to start with the anglers.

If any anglers haven't got a copy of it yet, the updated Keeping Bass Alive is a must for every bass tournament angler who cares. There's the booklet - The Complete Guidebook for Tournament Anglers & Organizers - that includes advice for tournament directors, and also a Pocket Guide for Tournament Anglers every angler can print and easily keep with them in their boat or tackle.

There are small changes everyone can make that make a big difference to being the bass stewards we all want to be. Please don't kill your catch - in the words of Ray Scott, 1972.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.
