Remember when Herb brought flipping to the Grand River.
Remember your 1st tube bait fishing deal.
Remember when it was a Texas rigged worm most all day...Of coarse a top water only in the morning??
Remember a real Pig and jig using real pork chunks and keeping the pork soaked and then came the rod wrap to keep pork moist.
Remember the color deal thing we use to drop the probe in the water to tell us what color of bait to use...And the PH deal thing also.
Remember the "Do Nothing Worm" Wining the BMC..
Remember when Kevin was Randy's little brother..

how about a 12' wooden row boat with a cane pole, bobber and a worm. Before that I think we had to build this great big boat, I think they called it an ark or something like that, not sure minds a bit fuzzy on the details. LOL

Remember using WD-40  as a fish attractent ,  before all those scents flooded the market. Remember using body baits made of wood that didn't rattle.

How about when the reel of choice was the Zebco 33 and the only choice of line was what lb test you wanted because it was all mono.

14 foot wood row boat with a 1.5 hp Muncie Gear Works Mighty Might motor.  The boat would sink every spring until it swelled up.   Zebco 33.    I was one bad dude on my lake with that.

Wish I still had the motor it is probably worth something today.

How about if you line up with the blue house, oak tree and the bird house... it should put you on that deep weed bed. What would we do without GPS now

How about when you fished an 8 hr. tourney and brought 2 tm batteries so when 1 died you had a backup. What the heck is a 24 volt?

How about the Mann's Jelly worm, or the Hoola Popper or Jitter Bug? Man it was easy back in the day!!!

When I was 6 years old ....my uncle took me fishing using a cane pole...you wrapped the line around the tip and fished rivers dropping it into holes along log jams...few years later he took me to a western auto store and bought me my first rod....now I own well over 30k worth of fishing stuff!!!

My grandpa had many Zebco 33s. We would go out on his pontoon boat and fish all day with those reels and bass stopper purple worms. No idea on the line size or anything, it was easy and about as relaxing as life could be

  How about when most rods were two piece??  We used to take the male end and rub it in our hair to get a little oil on it so you could take the rod back apart when you wanted.  Or when most baitcasting rods had pistol grips.

But i remember everything about that Pine.  Heck I still don't have gps on my boat, but i carry paper maps and just have always remembered, oak tree , blue house and bird house spots by heart

Remember when the BFLs were Operation Bass/Redman and they used to give Armor vienna sausages and packs of Redman Chew at the check ins??? I also remember getting gallons of Pennzoil Two stroke oil at the first tournaments of the year....

Ya I still use the blue cottage lined up with the pine trees across the lake, for the most part. It's a little harder on open water.

Had to wait for Bassmaster or BASS Times to show up in the mail to see the results and what was used in a Tournament unless you heard by word of mouth from someone who was there.

I remember the guys using index cards on the big water with Triangulation data to spots....Guys used to actually carry compasses to shoot an Azimuth to structures on the shore....

A Ranger 361V was my dream rig......Ragin Cajun, Pro Craft and Hydrosports bass boats were still  around....

I never leave shore with out a compass and my charts. Old school or not, fog, weather and satellites go down. You could be in .big trouble. The smart capt. Aways finds his way back to port.

Remember when there was no such thing as graphite fishing poles.  Only steel and the new synthetic; fiberglass. 
Fishing reels were strung with dacron fishing line. 
First spin cast was a Zebco 202.  Cost me about $5 worth of allowance.
Home made bobbers by using used flash bulbs from a camera and painting them with nail polish. 

We caught our own minnies to go Pike fishing cause store bought ones weren't as healthy and were  too expensive. 

Fished from shore all the time cause nobody could afford a boat.

First lures were things like spoons, Silver Minnows, Hula Poppers, Crazy Crawlers, and Jitterbugs.
