Hot Foot Differences

Just a quick question, anybody know what the difference is between a TH Marine Pro Hotfoot and a TH Marine Hotfoot? Also, anybody have the slider plate? Is it worth the price?

I know the cable does not come with it. Any suggestions on the best place to get the cable?

Mine is an older TH Marine.  I screwed it to the floor.  Not sure you would use the slider plate once you have it adjusted.  I positioned it on the floor then measured how much cable you need.  Make sure it is long enough.   You can order it from I-Boats.

Look real close at the floor.  I know someone who put screws through the hull.

Slider would be nice if you had other people who might drive your boat. I wish there'd been a few sliders around when I jumped in other boats and got to drive. Hard on the knee to go on a looonnnggg run with a pedal too close. Not so hot if the pedal is too far away too but that rarely happens.

For the difference, the Pro version is prettier... It also has the top loading feature for the throttle cable* makes HOT FOOT™ Pro easier to install and gives more foot and leg room. *Requires Longer Throttle Cable (Not Included)



The cable goes in at the top instead of the side plate along the floor of the boat like the original (the one I have).

I have a hot foot pro with the slider....I would definetly get the slider...My wife drives sometimes and I have to adjust the pedal..

My latest boat is the first one that I have had with a Hot Foot....Verdict is still out on it....At times I am glad that I have it at other times I hate it....Long runs up the rivers and Long no wakes are a pain...

There are plenty of big water guys that swear by the hand throttle...Steve Clapper and Ike are two I can think of off from the top of my head...

If you install it yourself on a Fuel injected engine I highly recommend taking it to a mechanic with a laptop so he can verify that your throttle openings are correct....It's one of the checks that my mechanic verifies every year...

If you're going to install, the Pro is the way to go, just from a rigging standpoint.  I have the slider plate on mine.  Once I set it the first time, I've never needed to adjust it, but I have a Fisherman series boat so I can adjust the seat horizontally when fish early or late in the year and am wearing boots.

Sometimes my wife runs the boat, so a slider would be nice for that. I will install it myself, so I will take your advice and have that checked.

Also, go2marine has a large selection of cables, that is where I will buy mine.

This is the first bass boat I've owned without a hot foot, I have missed it. I will be glad to have it again.

Once I got used to the foot pedal I couldn't imagine anymore not having one. With trim and/or tilt on the steering wheel it seems a lot more safe, and easier to drive in rough water.

Long no wakes can be a pain. I should keep up but haven't in awhile - there used to be a foot pedal that allowed you to still use the hand throttle too.

Love my Hotfoot.  Don't have the pro (I bought the boat this way).  Would not own a high speed bass boat without one.  Two hands on the wheel is the way to go.  If you don't have it, get the "blinker" trim for the steering column too.  If you need one, I have 2 and only need one.  Make you a good deal on one of them.

Love the new Hot Foot with cable in top. It's smoother than the one in my old boat. The hot foot is a real safety deal when driving in rough water. Both hands on the wheel. Believe me I have need both on wheel right many times on LSC  When it blows it blow real good
