Anyone know what site online or any way I can get solid lake mapping (ie..contours etc) for Lobdell Lake, Linden Michigan. I'm doing a tourney in 2 weeks
There and wanted somewhere to start. Any help with this would be appreciated.

Fished this lake a couple times last year. Best luck I had there was on big flats with some bottom weeds and stalky weeds in 8-10 FOW.  Did catch a couple near docks which had access to deep water.

Coop, I fish this lake a lot. Give me a call. 810-394-1820

Coop

Awesome thanks for the mapping links. Mike, I will give you a call this weekend. I plan on prefishing a little on the lake this weekend.

I will be driving past that lake on Thursday morning. I will have my boat in tow. If I stop and fish it I will give you a report.

Sounds good to me.. Like I said, any help would be greatly appreciated..

Lobdell Lake was my main youth-into-adulthood bass fishing lake growing up. We started most seasons there in the boat Friday night before Memorial weekend with Jitterbugs held high and thumb on the reel buttons until my Dad's watch struck midnight. And then it was on!

Lake Nepessing was the other lake I fished a lot as a teenager.

Granted, this was 30 to 40 years ago... but I still sneak over to Lobdell once or twice a year most years - fascinating chain of lakes (plus! they have dogfish!!!). I think my older Lakemaster chip has Lobdell on it. I'll have to look to be sure though. I didn't get over there last year.

I'm behind on Nepessing since it's a lot farther from Lansing. But it's a much better lake now too based on the couple youth events I volunteered at.

I can map the lake for you if you give me gas money  ;D

Coop

I have the new lakemaster maps and they do not include Lobdell. Navionics does have an online chart though, but I'm not buying it just for this purpose.

I wondered about that? I couldn't remember since I haven't looked at the chip in awhile. The free MDNR map will get you started.

Lobdell Lake is like many Michigan lakes - it is artificially raised with controlled water level by a dam. It was probably several basins and more wetlands with connecting channels at some point in the distant past but they dammed the outflow to create a stable water level.

So you have an old shoreline in the water with some brush - mostly gone - and lots of stumps and even some old trees though I don't know if any of them are still standing? I haven't seen the standing trees in decades. That old shoreline is a key part of the lake in many areas.

Drove all arould it today. Never ended up launching the boat. Looks like there are a ton of options. Some of the coves look great. I could see it being a challenge if the bite shuts off.

Ended up fishing lake margrethe. The weather made it tough to be out.

Coop,  I would suggest downloading the navonics app for your phone.  Its 9.99 for the app, but it has a great contour map of lobdell.  Having never fished lobdell before, I needed to do some research before I go to the lake for the tournament next weekend.  I usually like to prefish a lake, but schedules being what they are, I don't think it will be possible.
The navonics app has great maps of many lakes in and around Michigan, so while the cost might seem a little steep for an app, I can tell already I am going to get my monies worth out of it

Coop

I downloaded that Navionics app on my IPad last night. it was not $9.99 though. It was $49.99. But im sure it will pay its way in gold with good maps of some of the lakes I will need for some of these mid Michigan tourneys on lakes that are not on my Lakemaster Map Chip.

The nice thing about Lobdell and the connected lakes is the variety of things you can try in one day out there.
