I heard that a 12 year old kid caught a 10lb plus bass in I think they said Handy lake in Hartland over the weekend They said it was just under 26 inches long. The dnr weighed it and took measurement and the kid released it. Said he caught in the lilypads. That is all I have heard so far.
Remember you don't quit fishing when you get old, you get old when you quit fishing

The Michigan State record is 11lbs 15ozs caught in 1959.......I sure would like to catch a 10lber in a tourney...That one fish would probably win the Grand river.

Here is the article: http://www.livingstondaily.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070624/NEWS01/706240318
It was the record for biggest recorded LM for 2006. My buddy lives on that lake, maybe we can go out there sometime. ;)
From what he says that kid is out there fishing all the time, IMO it is a great reward for him and all his time and work.

That just makes you want to go fishin doesn't it?? Does anyone have a picture of this fish to see?? I caught one last night that was just over 23 inches, in a local neighborhood lake that doesn't get fished at all...its actually a funny story...I'm not telling you guys what i caught it on 'cause I know that i'll probably get smacked...happy for the kid, he reminds me of me   :D

With the temperatues heating up every year this is the age of the Bass. Everytime im on the water I think about catching that next state record Smallie or Largemouth. Our Smallie record is very good in comparison to the rest of the country but our Largemouth record could do better I think. Even though we have the northern strain we have some places where Bass have excellent food sources and that are relatively unfished. Ill tend to targer this places in hopes of the next record. Chances of me catchin it our slim but hey what are dreams for.

I'm hearing alot of reports that the "big ones" are getting caught on hotdogs...i'm not joking either...i'm about to bring some hotdogs myself.if the bass don't want them that day, heck i'll eat them...haha.

With... or without the mustard?

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.
